Use the biggest jiggin' Rap in the perch "green" color, Use the biggest classic rod with 25 lb. tough line. When you first start on to the river, stay where you are. The most bass are right in front of where the game sets you at the start. Fish the lure fast until you see one then let it pause. When it hits reel fast and hadr until it starts to pull then the fight begins.
Anywhere in Lake Okachobie..... You must Bottom Fish..... Look for a spot with a downed tree and cast near the tree...... I use the X-Rap 14 and just let it sit on the bottom and I dance it a little bit.... I caught 7 Catfish in about 12 minutes....
So far I have gotten 1st in all tournaments up to Masters, the guide tells where good spots are.Use Floater or Rattlin Rapala(silver) for all fish. Cast 12-25 ft. Leave lure where it lies, lightly work lure, the fish will come. Patience is key.This is killer for a fast catch!

Seriously, someone needs to help out here. I've caught 10 pounders before, but not in this challenge. Biggest I can get here was 4 and 5 pounds, and that wasnt often. usually its 3lb 10oz max..... I'm trying everything. I will update if I ever find out how. You need to catch 5 fish, all 8 pounds to win this challenge. ~sigh~
Good luck, I am having the same problem. I have also had problems landing some bass that maybe over 4lbs, sadly if I do land them they are 2 lbs 5 oz. Same fish I guess, they never grow. )
I have caught a few bigger fish by using bigger lures. When the lure comes up after you've selected it, Dpad to the right to use a larger lure. The writing is small on the screen, and I didn't notice it for several days.
Hi there, I get an orange ring and inside this a round orange net with a fish moving around then message you have failed to land fish, but I do not have any numbers anywhere on the screen...... HELP PLEASE
Once you have fought the fish long enough, a circle will apear with an orange ring in it and a little fish. You control the orange ring. Then you take the orange ring and put it on the little moving fish without pressing any buttons. Then, if you do that quick enough, numbers will appear at the top of the screen that you need to press quickly.
The best place to catch the catfish is by a dock in lake 1. the dock is in the corner, you have to turn the boat completely around from the starting point and head twards the corner to your left. depending on your casting range , park in front of the dock. use a countdown, perch and the catfish roam around a fallen tree at the bottom.

As the fish nears the boat, stop reeling. When the net mini game pulls up you have to get the little net looking circle over the fish icon that's moving around randomly. Once that happens there are a series of button presses you have to do in order to land your fish. This is usually only for big fish.
Use the control pad to control the net in the middle of the screen and move it towards the fish.if the fish comes into the net numbers and letters from the wii remote will appear in a sequence at the top of the screen.enter them in order as quickly as possible to catch the fish
This might not be the best answer but try if you have time you might try this for stronger line use less drag just like the other way around more drag for weaker line
