Once a lot is changed to certain type of lot it will have restrictions to do with how its supposed to be played from now on. If you need to make alterations, you firstly can't have any active sims on it, then secondly you have to change the lot zoning back to either "commercial" or "residential" then once finished the alterations change the lot back to what you want it to be.

It could be something to do with the layout of the building in which case you'll have to redesign it or demolish and start again. It could just be the way the doors are facing. They have a front side and a back side and it has to face the right way or the system won't understand. Make sure that each door is orientated outward to the hallway.

The door might be locked... so when you turn it it might be just locked in the other direction. like when you lock your front door'like family only, the people or friends that arnt your family can leave out of the front door but cant come back in... hope this is helpful

Ok there r 2 ways to find out what is wrong #1 maybe you don't have enough money for the flight ( if that it then press 'shift' 'ctrl' and 'c' at the same time then type in 'motherlode' - gives you 50,000- or 'kaching' - gives you 1,000 - #2 maybe you have to many people going ( if that the it then choose less people ) if none of these work go to a different family and see if it does the same thing for that and if it doesnt it means that the other family have some problems -Answer by:XxxASHYxxX

Is it possible to get robbed while on vacation? Because my sim got back from vacation and the TV was gone, I called the police and got fined, the next time my sim went on vacation again and her bed was gone. Please help.

That was a glitch, but you CAN get pick pocketed. there is a man who lurks around called "Unsavory Character" or something like that. Don't talk to him, he's taken money from my teen sim before.

You kind of have to catch the locals doing it at some point. Visit a lot of community lots and make sure they have stereo systems (most do, for this purpose). The easiest way is to visit the "mysterious hut" and fix all the witch doctor's things, then turn on his stereo and wait.

In "nightlife" if you want to go to a club you just have to either select "walk to lot..." via your sim, or "call taxi" via the phone and then select "community lot". It should then give you the option to go to a lot in the villiage or go to a lot in downtown.

Do I need to build on community lot or Residential lot?
If residential how can I change it for community?
took a long time to build this hotel now I cant check in.

You have to change the zoning to a hotel, after building. Start with a commercial lot. Use the hotel doors, and be sure the smaller sign is facing OUTSIDE. Only ONE outer door per room. No connecting rooms, either, sadly. Be sure you have all as you want it. Beds, lights, bathroom, a place to eat if they want room service, a phone to call for that. Television, etc., as you like. An office with a concierge desk. Some common areas are good, too. Picnic places with grill, like for other commercial lots, a camp fire, maybe, some kid stuff. You get the idea. You also MUST have cheat codes on to do this. From the neighborhood, you enter "boolProp testingCheatsEnabledTrue" - no quotes. In the lot, after it's finished, change the zoning to hotel by entering (CTRL+SHIFT+C to enter any cheat) "changeLotZoning hotel". Then save, and when you exit, it should become a hotel. If something doesn't work, you have to clear all the sims off the lot (send them home). Then the same zoning code, but "commercial" for "hotel", so you can access all the editing tools. You need to *find a piece of map that takes you to the mysterious hut (something along those lines) and when you get there you will meet/need to talk to an NPC who will ask you to fix some stuff in his house- I suggest you have already got some experience in repairing stuff. be patient the NPC takes a while before he gives you the doll.

Try a comunity lot then press ctrl+Alt+c then enter cgangelotzoning hotle.
The correct answer is:
1. Hotels have to have certain objects: a front desk and the hotel doors.
2. After building your lot, enter Ctrl-Alt-C to enter the cheat window, then type "changelotZoning Hotel"
3. Save, exit the lot and re-enter.

Correction to previous response and key combination to enter cheat window: CTRL-Shft-C
A2 was right. But it turns out that the cheat was wrong. The cheats are case sensitive, because of this the cheat was wrong, it is actually- changeLotZoning Hotel- the L was wrong. I don't mean to be picky I just want it to actually work for people. Good Luck!

You learn to telaport when you go to Tamazukia Island or what eva and you meet a ninja he asks you a question get it wrong and you don't learn to telaport but get it right and you learn to telaport!
Go to Takemizu Village then go to any community lot(not the hotel) and after a few seconds you will see a puff of smoke and then the ninja. Go talk to him and he will give you a riddle. If you get it right then he will tell you how to teleport. if you get it wrong he will disappear and you will have to try again

You have much special things,like more romance,skill of buliding and more ,and also manny colctions like sea shell colection,island colection ,far east colection,and the last colecton is the colection up in the mountains.all this colections can be bought in a shop of souvenirs but the sea shells can be found on the beach.Just click (comb for clams)or , on the sand near the sea,you can find clams,sea stars and much more,

Here is an idea get off the computer and do something important with your life and if you are really that sad CREATE A NEW FAMILY duh.
I had that happen and what I did was delete three lakes and my sims were back at home..then I went back and readded three lakes..thats what worked for me when my sims got stuck and wouldn't leave
What I done was come off of three lakes go to the neighbourhood then go into my family and they were back home its so easy
Go to the big blue phone at the front of the hotel and select "END VACATION"
Click on a tent in the camping ground and click check out. I was confused at first too but I figured it out pretty quick, I clicked on the tent closest to the road but I think you can click on any.
You could ither give them a cell phone or make them use the phone , click on vacation and then click on end vacation and return home
If you are not happy with the first sim you have created then buy a mirror click on it and click "change apperance" hope this helped

Ancient message: find the map to the secret lot in the far east destination (i can't remember the name...), and befriend the old man, he will tell you the legend :)
Those are all massage technique from each travel place. Spread relaxion with the heat (Twikkii Island) , work out tension thw mountain way (Three Lakes), and learn the ancient message of the far east (Takemizu Village)..find massage tables on lots you are visiting and click Learn massage.

I don't think it's permanent. What I'd do would be get them to do something cool. For example, get them to go for a swim for a bit until they cool down. You can tell their temperature by the thermometer next to their icon.

Its simple just bring up the cheat box ( shift, ctrl , C) press those 3 keys at the same time and type in (maxmotives) all their needs will instantly go up.
Okay, there's a neat trick. You have to be the neighborhood. not in the house. then bring up the cheat bar and type
"boolprop testingcheatsenabled on" exactly like that, spacing too, and you right click your sim after entering the house, you can to lots of things, be careful though. It's really confusing, but easy part is, just go to their needs bar, and literally drag it up to green. It defeats the purpose of the game yes, but it can save you a life and some hassal at times.

Make sure that the base lot you start off with is a community lot and not a residential lot. That should open up all the business furniture options and then you can change the lot zoning when you're finished.

Did you hold down Ctrl and shift and C at the same time? Because that's what you have to do.
I know the problem. You have to press shift, ctrl, z instead of ctrl, shift, z.
I had the same problem because of my computer I have to press control shift windows c
A2 was not even close try hitting enter after you type in the cheat and to make the cheat bax bigger or smaller hit the button rite under escape and to get rit of the cheat bar click the cheat bar and hit escape... hope this helps:)

When establishing a new destination, similar to creating a new village, you have to go to the plus symbol in the destination chooser, create custom destination, select which destination type out of the 3 it will be and then under "create custom neighborhood" it should have a list of terrains to choose from a preview so you find one which suits.
