Check the "square footage" of the space as well as the furnishings. The higher grade rooms cost more, but I can't imagine what would result in a 29,000 Simoleon room!
The hotel doors need to be pointing out of the rooms. If they're pointing into the rooms, the game charges the sim for the entire common area. (And when the sim checks out, s/he's ejected into the room. And can't check in again because the game thinks the check-in desk is inside someone's room!)
The reason for this is that the hotel that your sim is visiting has too many activities and that the hotel have very well furnished rooms. Does the hotel have a resteraunt? if so, this might be your problem
Bigfoot can be found AFTER you get the Secret Location Map for that vacation spot. You can get that by going on tours or you can even find it "digging for treasure". Then you click on "walk to lot" and pick the lot with the question mark in front of it. This secret location is only available if you leave from certain lots though.
Well to find big foot you have to have sims 2 bonvoyage if you do read this first you dig 4 a truesre chaest after that you look 4 a map if it say three lakes you can stop looking than book vaction at the three lakes than check in after you checx in click on your person itll say walk to comminty lat click on that than there will be a qestion mark next to were you need to go go there and thell be bigfoot
The zombies are not found on the 'bon voyage' expansion pack. When you have the sims 2 university. Unlock the career rewards and the aspiration rewards and there is a phone that allows you to phone the grim reaper. when you phone him, pay him $1000 and your sim will be brought back as a zombie!
For zombies, vampires and witches (I think werewolves are included, not sure) - you must have the "nightlife" expansion pack. They come with the game. Go to lots at any time you would like for witches. Vampires and generally Zombies are of a night. They do no always enter the building, so pay attention to the front path.

If you don't have nightlife but a later package you can start your game ...in neighborhood view, click on custom objects (the star sign). and download car and garage
You need the Nightlife Expansion Pack, or the Double Deluxe, other ways, you can't even download a car, because it will say that you need Nighlife as a requires expansion pack. You also need a driveway! Good Luck and I hope I helped!

You can get a car if you have sims 2 nightlife or freetime expansion pack, in freetime you can buy an old car that is not working and you can repair it and it will work just fine(it will take some time, but if your sims has high mechanical skills it will take less). You can also download cars from the game custom objects and they will work. So get nightlife or freetime !
Here is an idea get off the computer and do something important with your life and if you are really that sad CREATE A NEW FAMILY duh.
I had that happen and what I did was delete three lakes and my sims were back at home..then I went back and readded three lakes..thats what worked for me when my sims got stuck and wouldn't leave
What I done was come off of three lakes go to the neighbourhood then go into my family and they were back home its so easy
Go to the big blue phone at the front of the hotel and select "END VACATION"
Click on a tent in the camping ground and click check out. I was confused at first too but I figured it out pretty quick, I clicked on the tent closest to the road but I think you can click on any.

Enter the cheat: boolprop testingcheatsenabled true. Then SHIFT + click the sim that you bought on vacation, select: make selectable. you now can control them. DO the same thing to unselect them.
Or, enter the cheat: moveobjects on. Then delete the unresponsive Sim. They will be fine again the next time they load, I promise.

If you have Apartment life or Free time (i'm not sure... it's the one where you can obtain a second asperation) and you have a family asperation, click on the space for asperation point rewards and click on the big, shiny thing with the sims on it. Then click on the box that says "make grandma's home made soup"... something along the lines of that. Make it and make your sim eat it (provided it's not burnt) and they will be better.
It's Freetime where you get the second aspiration btw :D
There are no hula girls, except for the ones that pick up the souls of dead Sims. The female locals on Tikki Island wear hula-type outfits, but they are not "hula girls".

The maps give you access to the secret lots. Going to the secret lots and fulfilling the "missions" on each will result in your Sim being rewarded in some way (make friends with Bigfoot and invite him to live with you be presented with a voodoo doll and be "gifted" with a legend and corresponding storytelling/sharing abilities).
Addition to previous answer: There is another map only for viewing though. If you let your sim enter the pirate ship, and then pluder the captains place, they can find a log book, a map, a special coin. they can even meet the ghost captain and he will teach them a funny pirate song, when they have been talking for a while and told him some jokes. -Answer by:simsister2004
Yes they let you enter secret lots on vacation. They lead you big foot and things like that!
The maps are keys to unlocking a secret lot in each villiage. The individual sim has to have the map in their inventory for it to work, otherwise it is just decoration when put on the wall. It can also be passed on to another sim via "give gift" if you so wish.

I actually had this same exact problem. I dont know why but it would never let me put a garage door where it belongs. I have all the sims 2 games. I gave up trying and then one day I made a sicc house and had to have a garage to complete it. I tried and it worked. So Im not really sure why it didnt work the first 1000 times. Good luck
You probably dont have nightlife but there is a new mod by numenor and EA on mod the sims 2 and the official EA website that allows you to get nightlife cars and garage that are fully functional.

You must have the "Nightlife" expansion pack - go into build mode, go to the garage icon (if able to select continue), you MUST lay down a driveway path (buy one in this section). What I personally do is: lay down the driveway (allows you to drive onto it), then lay down an addition driveway path (a single path that you continue driving on), put a car down and build a room around the car. You can THEN add a garage door.
You have to first build the driveway that connects to the street and then a secon one that connects to the first driveway then buil a wall going around that second driveway then you can put the garage door in.
After building two conected driveways you must build a wall around second one (like a room around it) and put a garage door between the two driveways. buy a car and put it in your new garage! don't forget to paint it and build a roof
You also need the garage door, otherwise your car is trapped.

Press the cheat key (ctrl,shift and c) and the cheat window shud come up type boolprop testing cheats enabled true and exit (tip: go out for a while to the shops and when you come bak you can drag relationships up and down make bigfoot fall in love with you and everything) then pause it press shift and go onto bigfoot and select (make selectable) then you are bigfoot then keep being bigfoot and make him show off his slap dance (you must have music on ) or make him give your sim a bigfoot hug or greet your sim with a new gesture( GOOD LUCK !
Its better to have voodoo abilities 1st from witch at twikki island ..... with it then you can cast 'friendship' at any NPC, including Bigfoot p

Make sure tht you have a Garage type building first. Have it lined up with your driveway and the stick a door between your driveway and your garage. Like a normal door obviously, so the driveway and garage building are touching, door in middle. Have fun :)

If you use the boolprop cheat and then bring up the spawn tombstone of L&D you can speed up the pregancy to within a few hours and repeat the twins cheat one after another.

Actually, if you go on Mod the Sims there is a nice little game Mod that allows you to have triplets and quads. all at the same time. you can even adjust the odds for the chance that each multiple is born (i.e.: a high chance of having triplets and almost no chance of having a single child etc.) just search for it!

You don't really "create" a secret lot as far as I know. you have to find the maps at each location and then choose "walk to...community lot" choose the lot with the question mark next to it.

You can't. but if you dig for treasure you might find old tattered maps. then go on vacation and click on your sim. then select go to community lot. places will show up. find the one that has question marks beside it. click on it and it will take you to that lot. must have sims2 bon voyage

In correction to the first answer: If you have any game of Sims 2 installed, you also have the Bodyshop. It's a part of the game. You wait until you are outside the game, and then make sure you open the Bodyshop belonging to the newest expansion you have installed. I only know for mac. In finder-applications-sims 2- you'll see body shop. You can drag it to the dock, or just select. Also I'm pretty sure you can download it from www.thesims2.ea.com

As this question seems to be asked a lot I will give a step by step answer. First place an empty lot in the vacation neighbourhood of your choice. Then choose this as a community lot not(!) residential. Go into the lot and build as desired. To obtain the check in desk the easiest way, go into buy mode and click on collections. The select the Sims 2 Bon Voyage collection. You will find the desk on the 3rd page. Place this wherever you want it. To make your lot into a hotel lot bring up the cheat bar by holding down ctrl + shift + c. Into this type: changelotzoning hotel . And you have successfully made a hotel lot. (Don't forget to have a phone booth found under miscellaneous in the outdoor section of buy mode.)

Once you have got apartment life I use the cheat Boolprop TestingCheatsEnabled true and sometimes go to a community lot or you can click on your mail box and put make me know everyone and you can invite them over. Then use the sim moddler to make your relation ship higher and ask to show me the path of... (what ever path you chose). I have lots of witches and their really cool!

The only time that happened to me was because my female sim was already pregnant. It won't let a pregnant woman go on holiday even if its booked.
It doesn't matter it you have 1 vacation that means you have on used 1 vacation day. try rebooking it if possible.

To build out over water you need to select the foundation type which has stilts. I'm not sure how far out over the water it will let you build, but it works flawlessly on a pond on a regular block, just taking into account the usual boundaries.

Once a secret lot has been visited during a stay, whenever it is revisited on the same stay or by the same sim who originally had the map it will forever be in the condition they left it in last time. You may have to either do it on another holiday or use a different sim. Very strange that he left his own house. I suggest making sure that whichever sim you send has high charisma skill points and is interested in many things.

At first, its vending machine only find at university. but you can edit one or more shops at pleasantville (or any ville u've played) so it can sell cellphone, just enter at build mode and placed it (vending machine) at any of your community lot.

Uhm. Go to a community Lot and there's like a big blue vending machine that sells phones, mp3 players, and hand held games. But you need university.

Some lots are pre-prepared with graves on them such as the Goth family in Pleasantview and the Gothier Green Lawns lot in Downtown. In order to remove a tombstone they have to put it in their inventory and take it home. If you prefer, you can just wait until a controllable character dies of old age, then move your sim of choice onto the lot (it will be exactly as it was when the last sim died).

Once the relationship status is 100% with both a pink and red heart and neither sim is engaged or married to anyone, you should then be able to make one sime interact with the other and "propose..."
