I've beaten most of them more than 10 times, and it seems I've given Jaden plenty of sandwiches (until he doesn't 'beep' anymore), I talk with the stupid cat, and no matter what I do, I can't get a single heart to light up in the database? (For the record, this is the single stupidest part of any game that I've ever seen). So, what the hey? And, what are those other two unlighted symbols also? I can't even tell, and the lame instruction book doesn't even say.

The symbols in the database next to the heart for a trusted tag partner apply to Parts 2 and 3.
I finally gave Jaden enough sandwiches, plus 2 Golden Egg ones, and he became my partner. I wanted Zane, as Jaden can be a lousy partner sometimes. Should've given all of my GEs to him, as they're gone once you hit Part 2.

To ge the heart up for zane have the cat whith you and give zane a sandwitch that looks like a card but is a plain sandwitch that is zane favorite sandwitch so give it to him every day and have the cat with you.just do the same thing for jaden that I told you to do for zan exept give jaden shrimp or spicy food.alexis just give her chocolete and a sweet chestnut

Why is it so hard! i wanted jaden as my tag partner and by mistake i got him and zane fighting over me! i'm not saying it's a bad thing i'm saying relly easy if u just lighten up a little and relax! it's no big deal at all. ^_^

Those three symbols represent which part of the game you completed with that character. The second symbol will light up when you have completed Part 2 with that character as your partner and the third will light up when you beat the game with that character as your partner. Be warned though, you have to face the final duelist twice on your own so prepare to face his deck of Cont. Trap/Spell cards, Fiend-type effect monsters, and the three sacred beasts. He also packs 3 each of Metal Reflect Slime and Judgement of Anubis so be careful. Each cont. Trap/Spell and Fiend-type must be face up to tribute so plan for that, too.
