You dont need to find the hippo food yet, go back to the beach. There is a massive island slightly to the right. There are steps on the side, avoid the crocodile and go up there.
You do not need to get past the big gap at the end of the lake yet to go to Zoomy Village. Dr Potan is located on the big island in the middle of the lake. Swim over, climb up the stairs of sand and walk over to him.

Its really easy. Just go to the snowy place on the very edge and you see a brick place. you have to sneak up to the polar bear and when he faints go to the hole in front of the brick place and click 'search'
To find the dog that needs help, you need to make sure that you have completed every single quest you might be on. So check your memos and make sure everything is done. Once you have completed all tasks, head back to zoomy village and go to the dog in the sniff dojo, talk to him and you will find out he's the one needing help.
It is near the bear in the Green Meadows (be careful) if the bear is awake try to defeat it if is sleeping use the D pad the 4 arrows to tiptoe and sniff (if possible) and you will find the White flower that is mixed with a Tulip and a sunflower. Most people say the bear is on it. but no!
Go to rune valley and head into the dry valley, go to the giant pole things and turn right and head to the other pole thing you should be able to see the bear then.

I NO WHERE IT IS AND ILL GIVE U A CLUE "its where the buffalo roam on the first place of the entranc efrom north sandy desert" dry valley is the place where ull find a buffalo, be carfull though bbuffalo can sence you out from very far evan wen you hide behind rocks! but wat I did was walk wht the arrow buttons or keep sniffing or hide in long grass far from the buffalo until it goes to sleep, 1 more or, get the buffalo to chase you and then it will start walking very slowly bac to where it came from run to it then imeidiatly start walking, (the buffalo is very slow so youll have time to scare it) hope this helps! :)
Enter from the desert into Dry Valley the place where there are voltures and buffalo go till you see a pole with heads on it (totem pole) go to the right into a part with alot of grass and look around there. The bear is light brown.
I'm not sure where you are in the game. That happened to me a couple times. I just kept roaming around, talking to all the dogs, sniffing out stuff. At one point and I went to the victory gang's house, where there was a cutscene that told me what to do next. -Answer by:belleball
I encountered the same problem yoo, and am stuck. I have no idea what I'm supposed to do since no dog appear to be in need nor does Tao assign the Dog a specific quest. Extremely frustrating!
Hi ive got the smae problem and I have just been on the date with the dog at the beach and then I sniffed the map and it said someone needed help in the gola highlands and then I saw tao and boris but they are the only people apart from giraffes and enimes and none of them need help! can you plz answer this if you ahve passed ive been doing this for about 3 months tryin to find the person or dog!

I have the same problem too and master tao keeps telling me I still have alot to learn and I need to learn many smells but I cant learn any more flowers or food cuz there is still some spots I cant get to and I only need like 3 more bugs and 8 fish.

Your not supposed to go there yet. If you were finding some ashwood, its near the oasis. Keep playing and you'll eventually get to a mission where you can pass.
Start sniffing from the entrance of the cave with Henry in and you will find them. They are along the corridors, but you have to watch out for the bats! Walk past them don't run. Most of the stones seemed to be situated in 'safe areas' in between the bats.
(I havn't got to this bit but have read walkthroughs)
There should be a wall with some vines or somthing? You have to either go through it or behind it...
There's an end where there are vines over the wall. There is a little room on the left hand side in the vines. If you can't find it keep walking into the walls until you get in the room.
Its in the room with the snake you just have to look past the wine plant stuff on the wall and there is another area behind there and the statue is in there
In the place with the water and snake. If you walk into the wall on the left, you'll go thru the vines, and into an uncharted place on your map. Sniff around, and I think that the silver statue is there. Maybe the gold...:)
Ther are 2 entraces to chiro caves 1 at chiro villege and one at the west chilly feilds just finde boris there then cross the bridg to the caves

It is at gola highlands, near Tao's dojo there is a bridge that leads to chiro village which leads to chiro caves but be careful because there are many snakes, bats and other dangerous enemy's.
You go to the Victory gang hideout and ( I am a girl if you a boy it may be different.) McCoy and Camu will ask you who do love the most. You pick one then you go to the Green Meadows and go on 4 dates with the one you choose.
What the heck why the heck do you have to pick who you love most and go on 4 dates i'm a guy but im using a girl dog because of my aunt but I think no one ever asked me a freakin' question like that by the way i'm in the place on the upper left where there are 3 ways through dry valley something caverns and another one I have no more quests and nobody needs help and i've done everything in the diary and I can't get out somebody please help!
When you enter from north sandy desert,in dry vally it is on the right side ,but it looks like its going to attack when you 1st meet him but he wants the honey and he's friendly.
You can find it easily because you will just find the crab in the sand in the beach then use you sniffing or what then you will find it . I hope that I help -Answer by:malacacj
It took me a minute to figure this out as well. The question marks are where you are. so if you're in zoomy village and you use Boris, it will show Pupsville, then ?, then Gigli. that's what I came up with anyways...

After playing a little bit longer, I realized that the ? are for Chiro Village...
Its easy just go down to obabas house then go straight from it you will see a bridge leading to a little island the gorilla is beside it stun it while its not looking or if its sleeping
There will be a room with two steps. Go around that room and you will smell a blue ?. keep smelling unitll you come to a large door like the one you went in to come to the ruins. there the scent of the red button will be.
