Apparently, from what I have read, all you have to do is hold block and you will live. Ryu's sword somehow has the ability to flawlessly defend against massive explosions. But I have also read that some have tried this simple step and failed. The other option I heard about was to use the ninpo as a sheild right before detonation. Try either one and see.

As long as you did not use an attack with the scythe and immediately switched back to the dragon sword, you will be fine. I've done this achievement and was wondering the same thing. There's also a part later on that you automatically equip a weapon. Just watch for it.

I'm pretty sure if you go back there should be a switch. just do a pounce with a weapon and a cage will drop with a dragon, kill it and in the cage there should be a stone. Get it and put it in the slot near the stairs

The best way to defeat genshin is using the falcon's talon.stay far from him after he peforms and finished his combos attack to him very fast and use your nimpos.this will help you defeating him easily.do not forget to use your gouard against his powerfull attacks.

You should use the block technique where you are blocking and moving the left thumb stick so that you should do quick dashes. Use it when Genshin is doing combos and study how long and when they finish.After you do that you should attack with powerful fast hits when he lets his guard down after a combo then block again and repeat. I prefer the dragon sword for the best weapon to defeat genshin.

++AREA: MURAMASA'S SHOP
--OBJECTIVE: FIND SONIA
Welcome to Sky Tokyo City! Get ready because as soon as the cutscene
ends, it's BATTLE TIME! A gang of Ninjas will appear, so get into a
defensive stance! Kill off the nearest enemies and then use the Essence
they leave for Ultimate Techniques on the rest of the baddies. Do NOT
attempt to try and use Obliteration Techniques just yet!
Once all the baddies are dead, enter the shop to trigger a cutscene
with the money-grubbing whore. Once that's all done and refined, make a
180-degree turn and go around the corner to find the Save Statue.
SAVE GAME
++AREA: OUTER SANCTUM
Now make your way past Muramasa's Shop (on the other side) to encounter
some more baddie ninjas. Use the walls to your advantage and stay
evasive! Eliminate all the honkies and then continue towards the large
doorway on the other end. Open the nearby chest and then kick down the
door to the next area.
++AREA: INNER SANCTUM HALLWAY
Some more honked-up ninjas will appear in the hallway, so start using
the walls for downward strikes. Stick with using UT's to kill all the
baddies faster. Once that's done, open the nearby chest and continue
down to the adjacent hallway.
Do NOT wall-run across the open floorway yet! Allow the ninjas to jump
towards you while you prepare for some bloodshed. Eliminate them all
with some style by using a pre-charged On-Land Charge to show those
floozies how it's done, expert style! Now use a wall-run across the
floorway and go around the corner.
++AREA: SANCTUM SHRINE
--OBJECTIVE: MASTER THE ART OF THE INFERNO
Eliminate some more ninjas in this small room. After that's done, open
the chest to find the Art Of The Inferno Scroll.
--CRYSTAL SKULL #1
Before jumping down to the area below, look across the ledge to see a
Crystal Skull sitting by itself on an adjacent roof. Jump over to it
and then grab it! Now jump down to the bottom.
+++ BOSS BATTLE: RASETSU +++
Rasetsu is one aggressive semi-boss (but still a pansy compared to
Murai from the first game), so you need to be quick on your feet. He
uses a couple of moves in his arsenal:
--WIND BLADES
--SPIDER POUNCE
--SPIDER GRAB
Defeating this boss is as easy as Swedish Meatball Pudding Pie. For the
battle, simply keep a far distance from Rasetsu and charge up for a UT.
You should have enough time to unleash a bunch of Ultimate Techniques
in his fat face without too much trouble. Simply repeat the tactic
above and then use an Obliteration Technique on him when he's down for
the count to end the battle.
AVOID trying to use up-close combos on him because he can just grab you
in mid-combo and then smack you around. Stick with the Ultimate
Technique strategy and the battle will be over in less than 30 seconds.
No Ninpo used, no health wasted. Simple, right? If you die more than
three times in this battle even after using the tactic above, then I
don't know what to tell you except QUIT. Once the battle is over, the

I had the same problem keep 2 ninpos till he sticks his head down throw a dark void at it and the screen will show his forehead use the ninpo and you take no damage during ninpo attacks so you should see a cinema, this is the method I used just last night

This giant ugly floating boss is as easy to predict than anything
else. In case you didn't already notice, its entire body is encased in
metal making it practically invulnerable EXCEPT...for the boss's face.
I guess that means Ryu's gonna be making a lot of shots to the boss's
face Keep in mind of the boss's attacks:
--MOUTH GRAB
--MINI ME
--ELECTRIC FIREBALL
--MEGA ME
--ELECTRIC SHOCK
It takes quick aiming skills with the Fiend's Bane Bow and lots of
evasive techniques to avoid from being killed. The boss's attacks are
pretty painful and it's best to NOT touch the boss at any time during
the fight. To properly damage this bunghole of a boss, KEEP YOUR
DISTANCE. Equip the Fiend's Bane Bow and manually aim for his face with
a Level 2 charged shot. Yes, I said LEVEL 2 CHARGED SHOT. Each
successful shot should take away about 10% of health (which is a lot).
From there, stay evasive and move away from the boss as he wiggles
around the arena. Reposition yourself and then aim again with another
Level 2 charged shot to the face. Each quick and successful charged
shot will quickly reduce his health faster than you think.
When it starts flinging fireballs or his little Mini-Me thingies, use
lots of evasive roll jumps as much as you can to stay safe. These
attacks will eventually damage you no matter how hard you try to evade,
so be prepared from some damage. When the boss's health is reduced to
20%, he will keel over in pain, so quickly rush over and finish him off
with an Obliteration to complete the battle. With quick aiming skills,
you can defeat the boss in less than a minute.

These enemies are very similar to the Samurai Horsemen from the first
game. Most of their attacks involve running around and attacking you
while you have to catch up to them. The main tactic to killing them is
to let them approach YOU. When you block their spear attack, you can
counter with a hard combo as they turn around.
Fortunately, you can ignore all the Centaurs during this battle and
simply focus on Volf. Evade all his Scythe attacks and stay close to
him. When he misses his attacks, quickly dash in and use some hard
combos to reduce his health and then quickly evade. THAT'S IT.
If the Centaurs are blocking the view, activate the Wind Blades to
clear them out and continue focusing on up-close combat on Volf. Keep
using hard combos while evading and he should fall very quickly. Defeat
Volf to complete the mission.

The battle with the Archfiend's first form is a three-part affair.
These are the attacks it uses:
--FIST SLAM
--DOUBLE FIST SLAM
--PILE OF SICK
--GHOST PUKE
--ARCHFIEND BEAM
The only way to damage this boss is to use the Fiend's Bane Bow. Use a
level 2 charged shot to its head to knock it back. When it gets knocked
back, it releases a pile of its own sick on you, so QUICKLY dodge 2-3
times and then QUICKLY charge up another level 2 shot at it to reduce
its health. You need to be super duper quick with your Bow shots, so
that each shot knocks it back in succession and you won't need to worry
about its other attacks.
When its health is reduced to 60%, the boss stops attacking and climbs
higher up the spire. Work your way up the spire by using the Bird Flip
to the next floor. On the second encounter, the boss uses a ground
sweep attack, so be prepared to evade! Use the same strategy on the
second encounter to reduce its health to 40%. From there, the boss will
climb up again.
Jump and flip to the third encounter.

The strategy for fighting the Armadillos is the same...with the
exception that there are TWO of them walking around the arena! As
intimidating as that sounds, it's really not all that tough.
Just move in on one Armadillo and begin smacking its face with some
fabulous Scythe or True Dragon Sword combos to its face to quickly
reduce its health. The TDS is very effective in that each attack can
strip away nearly 10% for each slash. COOL.
When the Armadillos begin to roll around like a bunch of whiny babies,
don't forget use lots of Reverse Wind (don't use jumps) to evade the
rolling balls. THAT'S IT. It might take a couple of tries to get this
one down because the action onscreen is super hectic and you can easily
lose track of what you are doing.
Defeat both of these overgrown blowhards to continue the mission and
remember to press and hold the BLOCK BUTTON or else!
+++ BOSS BATTLE: ZEDONIUS - PART TWO +++
Zedonius still uses the same attacks and same combos from the previous
battle with him. So I guess that doesn't make this battle any less
difficult, right? The only thing you need to watch out for is that
Zed's attacks can throw Ryu into the lava water. If that happens, Ryu
loses a large chunk of health as he tries to swim back to the top.
You don't really need to fight off the Gaja as long as you can keep Zed
on the ground and fighting him up close.

Hold Block when he shoots the silver fishes at you, when he turns, shoot him with the bow. It is most effective when you hit him in the face.

At this point you should have all weapons fully upgraded...defeating Genshin and Elizebet , use lots of evasive techniques and counter attacks with the True Dragon Sword. After defeating him he will give you his cursed blade which will turn the Dragon's Claw and Tiger's Fang into the Blade of the Archfiend sory guys... the weapon I used to defeat Elizebet was the True Dragon sword. Now after which you'll walk through a portal to the next save statue 'PHEW' there's also Murmasa's shop to upgrade or stock up on items, after going through the huge doors you'll encounter more van gelf and dragons slaughter them all, now the next boss Dagra Dai the best weapon to use against him is the Eclipse Scythe but remember block, be evasive and counter attack...all you'll need for the Archfiend is lots of health, talisman of rebirth, 3 or 4 lives of the thousand gods and the health bun that muramasa gave you which you shouldn't use up to this point in the game last but not least your fiend's bane bow and same as the last boss battles block, evade attacks and use the reverse wind technique now aim and shoot the archfiend in the face anywhere else won't damage him... now there's three stages to this battle, the last stage after the cutscene the archfiend is a bit smaller now but has more attacks, to return him to the underworld you might want to use the Eclipse Scythe level 3... the same as before evade attacks, use reverse wind and block....now kick his butt!

At genshin its about waiting and knowing when to strike, wait till he charges you or any other attack, wait for him to finish, hell be open for attacks a second now, what I found to work best was doing the XXY combo, it does good damage and he barely ever dodges it
I used the sword cus the firts guy said so*the first comment*. Also I figured out that if you can land a lv2 ultimate move on him it does a wicked amount of damage. I was even able to hit him like 8 times wth the triangle, triangle attack :3 dont try useing the fire techniqe though cus it dun work I tried. Hope me helped you :3

The water dragon is a big joke! I'm not even gonna list all of his
attacks because this boss is SO simple to defeat. The main strategy
here is to use Level 2 charged shots with the Fiend's Bane Bow.
Stay on the little piece of dry land you are standing on for the whole
battle and watch the dragon. The only attack you need to watch out for
is his Water Breath attack. Wait for him to initiate the attack and
then evade at the last second. That's it!
Keep using Level 2 charged shots with the bow and manually aim for his
head for the entire battle. Don't worry about getting chomped or
grabbed because the boss doesn't have an attack like that. Just finish
him off already, will you?

thing is that she has a little more endurance, so you'll need to bust
out more combos on her to defeat her. Stay close to her and bait her
into fighting you one-on-one. Block and evade her annoying combos and
then counter with some Blade of the Archfiend combos to finish her off.

There is a glitch that might happen when fighting Elizebet! Be aware
that if Elizebet starts her Blood Swirl attack and catches Ryu with it,
the game comes to a screeching halt! What happens is that Ryu ends up
getting caught by the attack and then Elizebet disappears off-screen,
leaving Ryu stuck. If that happens, then you're pretty much screwed.
