I have 2 gamepads..is it possible to have to human players play each other? if so, what mode or option is it..

Can anyone tell me how to hit a simple shot in VT3 on the PC? When I go to configure the keys, there are only 3 shots to play- lob,slice and top spin. There's no simple SHOT. How can I hit the ball hard and smash it like the rest of my opponents when I don't have a straightforward SHOOT BUTTON?!?
It's my first tennis game, yes.

Don't tell me to use a controller, I know that. Apart from that, any solutions?
