Rock Band
A1:

Mainly lack of storage in the form of a hard drive is my guess on the music store.
some of the DLC (downloadable content) songs available for download on XBOX 360/PS3 versions are being released for Wii (and I assume ps2) as song packs for about $30. First one is due out in July, I don't recall exactly how many songs you get but it has been mentioned it costs less per song on the songpacks than other systems are paying over the DLC sevices.
The custom characters are probably a lesser degree of lack of storage on the Wii/PS2 and more to do with if they had included them they would have had to scale do or change animation methods to make things look right on the lesser video capable consoles without dragging the whole game down. This would probably add have added considerable time to the development. That being said I think Harmonix truly underestimated Wii's popularity and should have done a more "polished" Wii version than just port the PS2 version. Hopefully for Rock Band 2 they'll see the light and do that parallel with xbox360/ps3 development cycles so we have a better product and not have to wait forever for it either.
All in all I like the wii version. Customizable charaters are cool for about 5 mins when you make them and first see them, after that I personally don't see much of anything but the track I'm playing so it could be a blank screen for all I'd care and I'd still enjoy the game. DLC they get around with the music packs so we aren't completely left out in the cold and can get more tunes in between versions.

Probably because the wii can only take in so much
No. The guitar has its own sensor. The mic and drums plug in at a central usb port.
No I Got It Today And Its Just Like The Other Versions
Rock band does not use the remotes. So no you do not need to get new controllers.
You need 1 Wiimote, that is how the vocals navigate. When doing single player it decides what instrument you are playing by what you use to navigate into it. (Also must make a new band name for each different intrument you take into single player tour mode)
Thats why its better than guitar hero
Rockband. Even though it's Rockband, you can still play a single instrument, you don't need the whole band. The guitar on Rockband compared to Guitar Hero is much more realistic and has two hand positions for guitar and bass.
I'm going with rockband though that may change as I progress farther along. Not to say I don't like GH or won't likely pick up gh4 when it's released, I seem to just be having a better musical experience with Rockband thus far.
Haven't played through all of Rockbands tunes yet, but I don't think I've yet to run across a cover (if I have it was near perfect). Guitar Hero's use of cover bands always kind of bugged me, especially when they deviate from the real recorded versions. You know a song by heart, have a good musical ear, can play it on a real guitar just like the recorded version, and then play a video game with said song and they've modified some part...annoying.
The guitars...I wish I could blend the two. I much prefer the neck size and button width of the rock band wii stratocaster. However the strum bar feels mushy, which I'm still getting used to. Super fast up/down strumming seems to miss at times without out the familliar GH click to remind me I've missed. My hands are pretty big and on a real guitar/bass I can sometimes be lazy and use my Thumb on the E string. I can do that with the green button on the Wii like my guitars (so with less than "technique perfect" hand positioning I can actually hold down all 5 buttons 1 on each finger and the thumb), not so on GH guitar unless I shift my hand or use one finger to press 2 buttons. I love the full neck width buttons on the wii guitar compared to GH, but I prefer the button press response on the GH guitar.
Music, thus far in playing I think the Rockband guys are better in tune with what's a good fun song to play than Guitar Hero. Guitar Hero seems to favor more and more metal/Rock speed until the end of the game. Speed isn't the only thing that makes a song hard, or good for that matter. Guitar Hero (notice no rock or metal in the name) just seems to be skipping some great and difficult songs all through the series because they aren't rock or metal (I suppose we should feel lucky to even see hints of blues in there). Even with the addition of Devil went Down to Georgia in the GH3 challenge they went for a (admittedly pretty good) rock remake of it instead of dare exposing players to another genre.
Then add in drums and vocals and Rockband sits over the top in my book. Having more fun with vocals than I thought I would.

Omg such an easy question. Rock Band, dude! It's so cool, b/c it's got a whole set of [plastic] instruments, and not just. (I know I just got shots in my arms so it hurst to drum a little. A minor problem.)
I can't belive you had to ask that question! Rockband, duh! I could go on forever but he main reason it it has the microphone and the drum set. Guitar Hero can only do guitar and bass (which, by the way, Rockband can also do).
Plug it in to the drums
Plug it into the back of the drum set. There should be a small hole
Well, there is a wire in the front of the pedal. Plug the plug into the whole in the back of the drums (in between yellow and blue).

A1:

1) When you get to the menu that says ROCKBAND PRESS+, press+ on the instrument you wan't to use.
2) Next, go to either solo or multiplayer, depending on what you want to play (on guitar & drums, green=select, red=go back, yellow=up, and blue=down). If you are doing multiplayer, stop here, the rest is self explanitory.
3) For solo, the instrument you select solo on is the instrument you are sighned in on.

A2:

When you hit start on the window to enter the channel immediatly take the wiimote batteries out the rest will fall into place
A1:

No, but that would be cool.
A2:

Go to practice, put on foreplay longtime and play the big rock ending on the slowest speed.
A1:

U have to beat the game on tour and then a set of body guards will invite you to the hall of fame the complete the 8 set songs list on guitar
A1:

No.

I just found this out today....if you go under options-then audio You will see how to do it. Ofcourse you want to make sure your voice is up high...then take the music down low. Leave your instruments where you want them. And I turned the crowd down a bit because they can be louder than everything. lol It was pretty cool. I left the music up just enough I could hear how it went but I could mainly hear me. Pretty cool.
A1:

You press the green button to pick a song (on the instrument)
Yes you can , it just has to be compatiable with your consule.
No
If the box says it will work with both yes but if its like a GH3 guitar it will serve as mic instead as a guitar or bass
On the Wii, You cannot use any of the guitar hero instruments with Rock Band. You can with Rock Band 2 and Rock Band Beatles though.
On the Wii, you CAN use the GH guitars.
A1:

Dont use the controller use the guitar! duh
A2:

Unhook all the other instruments and mics then it will work
A1:

I belive it is because Sony and Microsoft are richer that Nintendo but you can make your person with RB2
A1:

Once you are on the setlist (solo or band) there will be a thing at the bottom that sez bonus songs with a song under it (beetlebum or motherhips). once you have completed the first one more will appear. that is the bonus tour
A1:

You need the USB expander it is included with rock band 1 or you can buy one for cheap it plugs in 1 usb outlet and gives you 4
A1:

No. Wii does not have any exportability yet with Rock Band. It may be possible when RB3 comes out.
A1:

U cant but you can with guitar hero
A1:

Theres not a place to put it in you put them in atthe title screen
A1:

Plug the microphone in and use the wii remote
A1:

You can't on the Wii. It needs a Guitar Hero guitar
A2:

Put the controller in it by undoing the part that looks like it holds batteries and plugging the controller into the USB connector there. If it doesn't work, turn off all the remotes and then turn on only the one in the guitar.
A1:

Yes.
A2:

I have the Rock Band 2 Bundle and I use it to play the first rock band. I also have several of the Rock Band Track Packs and it works fine.
A1:

U need 2 change the batteries or buy a new guitar or you forgot 2 turn the switch 2 on k
A1:

Yes the question is for Rock Band for the Wii
A2:

The Wiimote is not used when playing with the Guitar of Drums. Your Rockband Guitar would have came with a receiver with a short USB plug that you plug into that USB ports on the back of your Wii. Once it's plugged in you can play your Guitar.
A1:

Yes, I use just the drums when playing solo.
A1:

Not too hard or they will break
A1:

If the lights are flickering it means the batteries are low. If they are flashing it means it can't find the receiver which should be plugged into the USB port. To fix it press the button on the receiver.
A1:

No. You can use the Guitar Hero World Tour instruments to play Rock Band 2, but you can't use the Rock Band instruments (except microphone) to play Guitar Hero.
Q:

Rating: 100%
Is it possible to play the guitar or drums in freestyle mode, as w/a real instrument?
A1:

At the main menu, select the "Extras" option. Choose the "Modify Game" selection, then quickly press the buttons in this order "red yellow blue red red blue blue red yellow blue" on the guitar. Then you need to check the box that says "unlock songs". You can also turn on the "no fail" mode from here.
A1:

Yes.
