If you are talking about the two lanterns you have to light to get through the gate... there are two little balls of light that float around. You have to catch them with the circle button then go over to the laterns and use them.

Your trying too hard. You do not need to look for the witch, just keep moving forward and you should find her. Just in case your not sure, you know your headed in the right direction if you're finding more enemies.

Throw grenedes at her and pick up the stuff aroudn like bricks and sacks at throw them at her aswell as a last resort use your gun!

Close the 2 stone monsters mouths and then attack!
A2:
Close the 2 statue mouths right away, then run around in a circle continuously until he charges you with his stab move. Time it properly, then step aside (either to the left or to the right) then hit him twice. If you hit him more than this, he'll go into a stabbing frenzy that will drain your health quickly. Repeat the run-around-in-a-circle technique until he's dead. Be careful when he re-spawns...he may re-spawn right in front of you.
