Q: What the key to beat joe perry on the battle?

A1: If your wanting to beat Joe Perry just to unlock him in the vault then do it on a lower difficulty setting, if you can swallow your pride enough to do so. You can always go back and attempt to beat him on hard or expert.

A2: The key is to attack him when he has a chance to attack you. If that won't work use multiple attacks near the end of the battle when he's playing.

A3: The key is to use a whammy bar attack when he has alot of notes coming his way then use a broken string to finish him off
