Pro Cycling Manager/Tour de France 2008 PSP Q&A

Q: Why do they allow teams to wear yellow as their team colours? I find it really annoying when trying to pick out the "Yellow Jersey" in the peleton. Thanks, Les, Alberta, Canada

A1: It's because the yellow leader's jersey is only yellow in the Tour De France and one or two other comps. In the Giro d'Italia the leader wears Pink, the world champs the winner wears white with strips etc... If they said no to that color then most other team colors would also have to go, as most of them clash in at least one competition over the year. I agree though, it is annoying. Why can't they have an equivalent of an away kit for when they clash?

A2: They do have a clash strip kinda thing, ONCE-Eroski used to have a yellow strip but changed to pink during the tour, and this year Saunier-Duval changed their strip to include more white in it. Although this is only for the Tour, it's really hard when Rabobank or Euskaltel-Euskadi ride the Tour Down Under and it's practically impossible to tell the difference from the ochre jersey (our version of the maillot jaune)
