You need to research the correct technology to receive extra production from those tiles.
Wine is used as a bonus resource for the city that is created near it but you will need to discover the technology in order to use them. For the wine you need to learn "Ceremonial Berial" and for the silk you would need to research "Literacy".
Actually for wine you need Pottery, not Ceremonial burning. Ceremonial burning allows you to trade Incense.
Build a city close to it and reasherch correct tech
They are generally near good places 2 make cities, so go the and build cities near what you r trying 2 harvest and if you have researched the right tech a tile under your control will go over it and then your harvesting it.
Ceremonial Burial, not burning, not Beriel,
why do people lose the ability to write on these things?
why do people lose the ability to write on these things?
I know right!
Also you can play as Ghandi the indian becuase he has access to all resouces at the start
Play as Gandhi the indian and you start with acces to all that
In civ revolution unlike pc versions, you dont need to colonize or build a city near the resource. You only need to study its use.
Xtra points for your final total and thats it
No, the first time you get a production bonus, then food, then science, then it repeats
It goes on to Future Tech 2, future tech 3,etc....

Unfortunatly there is no way to specifically determine who you will get that is known to me.what I find helpful though is getting the americans as you may know they grant you one great person at the beginning of the game after that focus on culture by building wonders or libraries and universities though both can be done it takes a while to finish many wonders. if you do this you will inherit many great people this also works for the french and the egyptions for different reasons they both dont start out with agreat person but the egyptions start out with a wonder french because they start out with an impressive palace wich can be improove even more by researching the technology monarchy and changing governments to you guessed it monarchy with monarchy palace culture is doubled that is unfortunatly all iknow
A2:

You can steal great people. Form a spy ring, and then find the great person that you want to have, and then send your spy ring, plus some additional military help to take the great person.

Yes you can. It's hard because you to be building the Manhattan Project Wonder in two cities and the Wonders have to be finished on the same turn. You could also build three or four or TEN nukes, depending on how many cities you have, you could have as many as you want. Just the wonders have to be finished on the same time.

It because french cultural is higher than yours. just build temple and cathedral to increase your cultural and don't forget build wall too
The French start with a cathedral. That gives them a lot of territory to start. Any city near them will be in danger of turning
Possibly, because the French start with a culture bonus, they also got an artist to settle in a city to double the culture in that city too
They start with a republic and a code of laws too, this means courthouses.
A4 thats romans and courthouses r democracy. but more culture means more territory
Also build wonders because they also add culture and dont forget they each have a specific ability for the first civ that builds them technically the only civ because the other civs cannot build them after another civ has. Ex: Great wall all civs will offer you peace, Great Pyramid all governments unlocked, Leanardos workshop advance all basic units to more advanced units Ex: archer to pikemen (this only works if you have the technology to advance them, pikemen require democracy) Collosus of rhodes doubles trade for that city etc. Note there are many more

Future Tech only applies to squares of grassland, forest and sea. every time you finish researching it, you get an extra food/production/trade icon on the appropriate square. this is a continuous cycle so you can end up with grassland that gives you 5 food, and forests and seas that give you 5 production and trade
A2:

Every additional future tech that you research boosts your overall score. Meaning that if you didn't play a good game, but researched a lot of future techs, you're ending score and "title" will be better

No your technology isn't lost or stolen but instead your upgrading for instance you no longer have the archers when the pikeman become available. The pikeman provide better city defence than the archers.
When you lose a unit, its not dissapeared. its just been replaced by another unit. eg... cannon dissapears, tank appears. you cant stop this from happening though
If you have not researched more advanced military units in the tech planner and you go into some of the more advanced eras, the lower units like archers and catapults will disappear, to get more advanced units to show up you must study it on the tech planner.
Archers-pikemen-riflemen-modern infantry
warriors-legions-knights-tanks
horsemen-knights-tanks
catapults-canons-artillery
galley-galleon-cruiser
warriors-legions-knights-tanks
horsemen-knights-tanks
catapults-canons-artillery
galley-galleon-cruiser
A2 though it seems like they are one in the same the cannon and tank are not. to prove my point get cannons and research tanks aka combustion its wierd how this works but you keep tanks and cannons both because somehow cannons are the most advanced of their calss it goes ironically warriors legions horsemen nights cannons

I use the tech planner to try and discover space flight and time always runs out is there a quicker way ?
Question from: Rabid Wolverine(147)
Try new Civilisations each time, build more cities and put most of them on Science Production instead of Gold Production. Build more Cities on the coast and on small islands to get more science.
The fastest way to get your space ship to victory is to us 1 for fuel and the others, then build 4 propulsion. Your victory should come in about 6 turns or so. Adding everything else only slows down your time.
The fastest deployment of the Spaceship is to use one of each except for propulsion. Use 4 propulsion. The takes 3 turns from launch. However, you must be in control of your capital when it arrives. Some tech may be skipped in the process, such as Navigation.

Make lots of cities and build libarys, cathederals ect.. and set your workers 2 science and you will discover faster
Research literacy and build spy rings (if the other person have a spy they will probobly beat you) and go into cities and kidnap great people sciencists and builders when they have none left change your worker 2 science and build libarys and universities 2 IN EVERY CITY U HAVE! then build tempels and cathederals to improve culture (when you get a certon amount of culture great people come along)when they do use them 2 finish it 4 you p.s doing this you wont get to 2000ad and its not as much work as it seems
A5 is completly irrelevent and though a4 is correct about librarys but cathedrals help culture not tech build librarys and universitys also switch from gold to science production (do this by clicking triangle when on your city screen) and though a tech planner may help you plan it is not needed to achieve tech victory just get techs involving schoolastics ex: mathmatics, literacy, writing, alphabet, engineering, invention. also get techs like combustion, electricity, metalurgy, etc those will lead to flight and advanced flight. getting advanced flight and flight lead to space flight which is what you need. also get electronics, corperation, industrialization, and nucleur power. (i know this sounds like alot but its really not if you can manage to get some great scientists and get a good city for science.)
Library's and Universities always speed up the amount of science each time. You can get any city to only harvest 'Science' (press L1 to select cities, and the option should be in there - select the pic of flask...). You don't have to research everything for each stage in the Tech Planner, so concentrate on the ones that take the longest to research that are on your Tech Plan... should work out okay. And then follow what A3 says about propulsion (you can always get a few places building at once, get everyone on 'Production' only, make sure you press triangle so everyone is collecting gold, not science... then you can pay to shove out a few the in time for the next turn... make sure defense is good, coz everyone will want to attack you, shortest time I've made it is in 6 years (2 years go by each turn, so I got there in just 3 turns)

If you play online, ps3, then you can choose your time limit, all you have to do is click NONE when it asks you. Also, it's easier to create your own game instead of connecting with other people, and don't let people join because it just slows everything down, just play the computer.

NO! You need a great builder or have to make your production in that city the main focus (along with a factory to double it, helps) I have had production up to 125 max in one city, which will build the world bank in about 6 years (rounds)!
A2:

You can't use a great builder to build the world bank or any game winning wonders

I recommend that you have two armies defending each city of yours and in case another civ attacks you using ships also have like crusiers or battleships defending your cites -Answer by:Rabid Wolverine
You have to always have a Army or two in every city to defend your citys and always be careful of enemy ships hanging around your citys on the islands.
Build lots of boats and then lots of men put the on the boat (with settelers) go 2 the mainland and found a city
I have no idea why the ground units disappeared... unless if the game is cheating you? or maybe you've found a glitch?

You cant
You probably went from having 4 science per turn in your city to 3 per turn (4*5=20, 3*7=21), and the techs probably need 20 science to unlock.
In other words, your science production per turn defines how long it takes for you to unlock a technology.
In other words, your science production per turn defines how long it takes for you to unlock a technology.
It was when I started though. with greeks its 6 and egyptians 11
Actually its all about your starting location this cant be toggled with on chieftain difficulty but if you want this to happen select the second warlord I think settle close to water because itprovides two techs per square. if you settle close to an ocean and your focus is technology go to custom on your city and choose more than one ocean space this adds alot of extra technology but once you get some you may want to research technologies that will help you build buildings such libraries and universites to improve science naturally and this will let you switch back to production food gold etc while obtaining technology

It just has to do with stacking and turns. Sometimes a city gets stuck on a turn for whatever reason since this game is not flawless. This espcially happens when you rush the unit before it ( ussually only in cities with a lot of production for the time period) whenever this happens the next turn the city can produce them at they all get made in one turn. that or its just a luck things idk but it happens to me a lot to.
No this happens when you are building a wonder or something that requires many turns to make. Towards the end of the production you can switch it to whatever unit you desire and sometimes the outcome can be a high number like x36 ex: Building the manhattan project takes many turns for most cities with basic production (anywhere from 1 to 15) if you switch production over to a unit ex: artillery you can end up with several units of artillery. Note: Basic production is estimated within the eye of the beholder, I chose 1 to 15 because that seems like a fair estimate to me.
Or you might have got one of the special thinker people early... they reduce production by HALF... plus... possibly your game has a glitch...?

Win a Cultural, Economic, Domination or Technological victory. Or finish with the higher rank @ 2100ad...
By getting either a Tech, Economic, Culture, or Domination victory.
There are several ways to complete the game. You can win the technology victory by successfully reaching Alpha Centauri, The Economic victory by Builting the World Bank, The Cultural by a combination of 20 Wonders/Great Leaders and of course by domination which is the capture of the other four Capitols.
If you press select on ps3 or what ever it is on the other consoles it will have an who is winning option select it and it will have a bunch of faces, you and your opponents,if you reach the last line in most of them you can build something e.g bank if you complete economy-please note for a tech win all you have 2 do is discover space flight and build your ship ohh yeah and launch it
U can either get 25,000 gold, conquer every other civilization, get to alpha centauri first or get 20 wonders/great people
You totally beat the enemy so they have no troops or cities
Or make sure you're no 1 for domination, then you'll win the game when the turns end with a domination victory
Because sid miers has no story or plot it is just random battles so you cant actually finish the game only try to beat your high score in the next battle.
hope this helped.
hope this helped.

When you start a game and choose which technology to start with, take a moment to glance at the "Technology Planner" (I think?). It's at the bottom of the technology screen and lets you plan your choices for the techs.
Its actually quite simple. The quick way is to, at the beginning look in the Tech guide for all the things you need to get to the Space Flight technology and then just research all the technologies that you need.
This answer depends on what you are trying to achieve. The tech planner will help you sort out what you need to research, in order to get to the tech you want. i.e. you need Alphabet to research Writing. . . Writing enables spies. . .
