I don't want the cheat code, but ........ I have developed the ICBM, and used it once, but I can't locate "build more ICBMs".

any ideas?
Thanks

Question from: macmarine(9)
8 Answers +
You can only build and use an ICBM one time.
You can only build 1 on this game
You cant build anymore, you are the only one to get only one and the only one icbm in the game.....
You can only make one ICBM the whole game. Once you use it, it's done.
The ICBM itself is the wonder, you can only build one. Ref: Civilopedia.
Actually you can build more than one icbm. just have 2 or more cities with the same production build the wonder at the same time. the game doesnt know that your defying the laws of wonders. I had 5 of them at the same time and I was bored so I just bombed the crap out of the mongolians. utter destruction =) nice video though
Well if you make sure at least 2 or 3 city's have the same population and same production then make the wonder and have several A-bombs
If you build 2 or more city with the same production skills than build the Manhattan project in each city you will get a nuke in each city simple

How do you win the game on king difficulty before 1000 AD?

A1:
Blitzkreig sceneario, just defeat your oponents its easiest as the Arabs since your units get +1 movement, when you are using Warriors,Archers and Legions its helpful plus you get easy access to Catapults as Arabs.
A2:
There's no surefire way, but here are some tips:

1) Zulu warriors can move 2 tiles per turn instead of 1, that is very helpful in picking off capitals early.
2) Save your game on the first turn. Scout out where enemy capitals are then return to that save game so you can immediately make a beeline for the nearest capitals.
3) Don't bother attacking non-capital cities. In a domination victory, only capitals count.

There's an aspect of luck to winning the game this quickly, but hopefully these tips will help.

What unit defeats archer units?

Catapults
Get some sherman tank armies they have 50 ATK until you fight 2 or 3 times then they have 75 ATK o and pikeman armies have better defense than archer armies
You might want to get a Legion army but build a barracks first and get them about 3 victory's over some barbarians so you can get some special upgrades.Plus it helps to be attacking on a Hill.
Cannons
I love my Wings (3 Flying Fortresses). They attack 142.
Depends on how far into the game you've gone. If it's early, an army of Horseman wil do fine(3 units combined). An army of Archers vs. an army of Horseman @ worst would end up 15 Attack vs. 15 Defense. Just be sure to study Horsemanship before Iron Work and you will be able to get cities before they build up Archers. Plus, its nice if you can get your Horseman veteran status and up before attacking cities. -Answer by:xII MACE IIx

How do you get the great general?

You must win a victory in a battle were you are outmatched. Say you have archers defending a city being attacted by a army of cannons, more than lickley you'll lose, but if you somehow win you will get a genneral. TIP: If you get a general dont use the army he's attached too, to do attacking. Insted use all others armys to attack because as long as the general is on the same square as your attacking armys they will all get the general bonus. But if you lose your general your armys lose the bonus. This is sometimes the only way to take citys when playing on deity.
Beat an enemy stronger then you.
You need to have many victories with a single unit but it is random so not all units can get him
Have a unit win 9 battles and a great general will appear.

Just finished a multiplayer game . I built a warrior with Rome in the time it took spain to build a settler walk to within four squares of Rome , build a city , buy a warrior and attack my warrior that had just moved his FIRST move away from Rome . This is the VERY beginning of the game .
HOW is this even possible without cheating of some sort ?

A1:
The answer to this is quite simple. They didn't build a settler, they took their capital and planted it right in the middle of a high production area near your capital and took you over.

How do you get tech faster because the game ends when Im about to get a good tech.?

Start next to water and increase science
I start were the game starts and don't change what tiles are used, then I start with alphabet and go for the ones that take the longest and by about 2020 iv'e finished all the tech's and repeatedly finished future technology
I always start with the technologies that take the shortest amount of time to research first. This takes a lot less time, plus you will be more advanced than other nations.
I pick technologies that take longest and save a great person to research it faster. you'll reach space quick if you pick through the right tech.
Cycle through cities to balance out science and gold production. I'll go all gold production and pay to speed production of city projects. works nice so far. go all (almost all) science for tech goal. save a few cities for gold.

How do I devlop a city to produce 200 resources per turn ?

Find a city that is surrounded by as much forests as you can. Then try and up your population so you can have workers there. Don't forget to have some soldiers stationed in your city. Have some cities that completely dedicate themselves to culture. This should get you great people. Keep collecting great people in the city that is producing the resources. Build every building that helps and build every wonder that helps in this city. Try and pick a civilization that helps producing. This may take a long time but you should eventually get 200 resources per turn. Also if you can build the Great Wall Wonder. It makes every civilization offer you peace. It will buy you lots of time while you build and research.
The best way is to use the senario MAZEWORLD it has "walls of mountains". U should be eather the Americans (factories x3 production) or mongols (+2 production from mountains). just put a city in location with lots of mountains, build all buildings that help production. And when the city has a population of 30 or 31 CUSTOM all your workers to only production squares. if you just pick the hammer you well get less production. that sould do it, also having your city by hill and forests is a must. oak, marble, and other production reasources work great
I used some of the above recommendations, but also changed my government to communism, which increases production.
I also tried these however if you do go on "maze world "build a city next to as much uranium as you can and research nuclear power and also follow as much of the advice above as possible
Mongolians suck but they give 2+production from mountians (maze world)
Just build a city around a few mountains. Once you can build an iron mine and a factory you should be good to go. I didn't even have to switch to communism.

How do I get the achievement the curse of the drinking class? I have tried twice and failed both times.

A1:
Settle a city next to a mountain range, 4 mountain tiles make great defense and production, be sure to build the mine, factory, and all other buildings have mess with production, build the wonders that also influence production. once all options for production have been built.

switch the city into food production to increase population faster, build the nessassary food production buildings and wonders accordingly... once done allow the populaction to build.

after a while switch the citys output from food to production, if it needs more population, go back to food production and repeat as nessassary.

once the city produces 200, be sure to leave the city at 200, and wait one turn, the result at the end of the computers turn should be your achivment.

(building food or production buildings dont nessasarily have to be in order or all at once...after all...youll need to protect a city that can pump out 40 tanks in one turn))

How do you get the achievement win the game by 1000ad on king or higher?

Play on king difficulty. Play on whichever scenario that already starts you out with three cities (sorry, I forgot). When you start out, you will be very weak but so will everyone else. They will be worried about making courthouse, production, and gold. What YOULL be doing is mass-producing knights. Make many armies of them while taking down their already weak cities. If you keep looking at the date youll start to worry yourself and youll make mistakes. If a certain turn makes you uneasy, make a new save and continue. If you mess up restart it. Good luck.
I actually won on Diety before year 1100. I was the english, I made 3 warriors then 1 archer. I then used all hammer to make Himeji Castle. I got lucky with getting Barbarian villages. I found 6 before anyone else and got 4 caravans, and the other 2 I got 50 gold. Also I got a hint and was shown where Camelot was. With the money I got my settler made another village and made 1 archer, then used all hammer to make Himeji Castle. My first great person was a great leader this was a huge bonus. I switched London from making Himeji castle to making Barracks which it did in 1 turn. then I made 4 more archers real quick sent 2 to my second city. then I made a galley. Then I switched both cities to horse production and started using my money to rapidly make units. I was able to get 5 horse armies which I teamed up so I could have infiltration, blitz on most units and medic on 2 units. then I went to camelot and my horses became knights. all this time I used my 3 original warrior units to explore so I found the capitols got lucky they were all on my continent. Then took my knights and went through and cleaned house on everyone in just a few turns. I beat Americans, Greeks, Spanish and dont remember the last civ.
Real easy.  On King level select the Aztecs.  Research Horseback Riding.  Build 2 warriors and switch to building something like Stonehenge.  Send warriors out to find Barbarians.  Once Horseback Riding is learned switch build to Horsemen.  Keep building Horsemen and send them out to destroy all.  Build armies of Horsemen and rush when possible.  You will probably be done by 700ad.  If England is involved it will take about 6-7 Horsemen armies to defeat.  New cities produce gold and Horsemen too.

How do you create a city?

You must first build settlers. You must have 3 or more population to build settlers, their built in the unit build bar. Once the settlers are built have them go to a location you want a city then hit Y.
Get a population at 3 or more and make a settler,or! if you are the mongols just attack barbarians.
Make settlers leave your city and press y to found city....
From the first city you have get the "settlers" unit, then move the settler to the spot where you want your city and select find city as your action
Build lots all of the building you have
Get settlers and they can found cities
Hi build settelers and once there built move them more than 2 squares away from your existing city and on your next turn press y
Get settlers and move them to the location you want your new city then press the button thats says 'form city' or somthing
Just get your settelers to find a good flat grass land so they can get some good food ( when they build ) then once you find the best place or place you think is the best then just make your settelers to build a city thats all!

How can I get upgrades fast?

Simple, declare war on every civ in the game and then fight like crazy
Fight barbarians. They are easy to kill on every level and rarely defeat your fighters. I found that the blowgun people are the easist to kill.
In the normal game, the only way to get upgrades fast is to get a Great Leader. There are only 2 Great Leaders in the game and they are tricky to get and it is the luck of the draw, so if you are not given one when your cultural level advances, look to steal one with a spy. The Great Leaders are represented by flags with a Star on them. Plant them in a city with a barracks, and each unit you make will be given a promotion. What I do then is turn the city into a money maker and buy all the units. If you make 3 units you can get 3 different promotions and you have a very strong unit, especially for defense. Another way is to buy the expansion pack on Xbox Live that has the “Coliseum” wonder. This allows units to get promotions more rapidly.
Start off as the English because they have monarchy and you will get David as he comes when you have monarchy and culture

How do you deafeat a army that is very strong?

What you would want to do is put pikemen armies all around your border. Then lay low after a while. Talk to the ruler to delcare peace. Then advance your technology. After that, finish the study of atomic power. Then declare war! All you have to do is send the nukes. -Answer by:Emiller01
My best tactic is (on Cheiftain anyway) is to develop the Mathematics technology as fast as you can (look at the Tech chart by pressing Y). It will tell you what path you should take in order to do it as fast as possible. Then, build catapults in all of your cities, nothing else. Send them ALL to the "front" (city closest to your major enemy(s)). Make armies, and then decimate. Repeat as needed until the modern age.
If it's in modern times attack it with air while having a fleet of battleships helping, then fifnish it off with an army of tanks (careful against the aztecs, they heal after every victory)
Use a battleship fleet to support your attack, it offers an extra 27 points in attack. And use bombers to soften up the defenders and your best bet for ground attack would be artillary. Artillary only has a 2 move per turn limit, so you need to be carefull because your units will be vulnerable just outside of the enemy city. If possible have barracks built, and even try to get multiple wins with a unit against some weaker barbarians or something. Keep up the attack eventually you'll wear them down.
I Normally Get Catapults Cannons Etc And Develope A Few Armies Of Thos Then Throw It All At Them
Bring a stronger army
Make an army that is even stronger. You can get extra bonuses for units with naval support, fundamentalism(I think that's what it's called),the samuri wonder, and the various combat upgrades. Make sure at the very least your attacking with veterins.
The best way to take out a very strong unit is to
1) Use Artillery
2) Attack from a Hill +50%
3) Use a good bonus like “Infiltration” +50% against city (best way is to have a Great Leader and a barracks)
4) Have a Great General in the stack of units
5) Have Naval support from a fleet (3 naval units)
6) Use Spies to reduce fortifications (requires 2 or more successful tries)

OR Go around their defenses by building a city nearby and buy all of the cultural buildings (this takes a lot of cash, but may take less time than getting the great general, etc.)

If that fails, use the ICBM, but then there’s nothing left of the city to capture.
Build armies of your own. If you're in Medevil times build 2 armies of archers, catapults, and knights. (If you're in modern or ancient substitute as nescessary.) Then attack. First with the catapults to soften them up then go in with the heavier attack. You should be able to win.

P.S. If the opposing army is farther ahead on the tech tree, just try to make peace and dig your troops in.

How do you move units across the sea?

Same as ground units.Exept for the galley can only go into shallow waters(light blue). All the other ships can go in deep and shallow(dark blue is deep).
Use galleon, cruisers, and battleships. Move the ships next to the coast then move your units onto the ships. I personally don't use the galley's just because they can only move next to land and it takes forever.
Use a ship and have your land units go in the ship and you can transport your land units to islands. -Answer by:Dark Overlord 7

What strategies are the best to win a game on deity with each civilization?

First go the the scenario beta sentary or smothing like that, and build strong defences, then build a wall and build an infantry army, furst let the barbarians attack so your infantry army can get alot of power ups/ upgrades, then get an army of artillary and tanks ten attack the other civilizations. -Answer by:Tamaki
First Civ to use on Diety should be Japanese. They get food from water tiles from the start. So you can get food and Tech from the first turn. Then get Navigation to make a galleon and Code of Laws to make Settler at 1 cost. Take settlers on the galleon to make citys on islands. Japanese also get loyalty bonus on city defense units which helps. With 5 cities you should cruise to a tech victory or even a domination because you should have artillery, steel and mass production before everyone. Best Wonders are Trade Fair of Troyes and Leonardos Workshop.
Strategy for Romans would be culture victory. Key Wonders are Magna Carta, Taj Mahal, Shakespeare Theatre. Place a Great Thinker in the city that you build Shakespeare Theatre. Must have Temples in each city. 6 cities should be all you need. Have 1 or 2 cities that make defense units, 1 city for Tech so you need a library and a Great Scientist there, put a University there too as soon as you can. This helps with tech for defense while you are building Wonders in other cities. Then when you get Rifleman, I usually start building some Wonder in advance of getting my techs like Rifleman that way when I get those I just switch over to Leonardos Workshop and am done immediately, Build Leonardos Workshop for free upgrades on all units. This allows you to concentrate on building wonders and buildings. Also build Scotland Yard so you cant have your Great people stolen. Culture victory will be smooth sailing.
For Egypt I like Domination or Space victory. Key is to build cities near desert tiles. every city should have at least 2 desert tiles if at all possible. Trading post and Library in each of these cities is crucial. Place a great scientist in a city that you can build a University quickly. Getting the Colossus Wonder in the beginning will help big time, if you get it and follow the city guideline Techs will come so fast that you will have Tank and Artillerry when everyone else has pikeman for defense. At that point you can choose to try for Domination or Space race.
The Greeks are good for Space race. Having Democracy from beginning his huge. Place cities on islands or with lots of water tiles available. Build Libraries and place Great Scientist in a city that has a University, best if Dye resource is also available for this city. The Techs will go by fast, build Leonardos Workshop so you get the free unit upgrades. This allows you to concentrate on building courthouses, libraries and universities. One city has to be in an area that allows alot of hammer, hills mountains, oak, rubber and aluminum are great. This is so you can build your space units quickly.

What is the easiest way to get a tech victory on deity?

Build the ship to alpha cintauri before any other civ wins
Choose tech planner and go right to the end, only choose the tech needed to get to that point
Start off by immediatly researching alphabet, writhing, and all the other scientifically important stuff. If you like action, wait until one of the other civilizations has a new technology that you don't have and conquer one of their cities. Not always, but most of the time you will get the technology.
I found that the easiest way is in the Scenario "Lightning Round". In this scenario, you only need to research 24 techs and you start with 3 cities of small size and in a later age. If you choose Aztecs, their temples produce +3 science. Build enough defenses in your vulnerable cities, then build temples and libraries, sit back, and you should win handily. It does not matter which technologies you research, and you dont need to build the space craft. I recommend you stick to any tech that will make more sciece available or any new unit available so you can continue to defend yourself.
Pick Lightning Mode and select Romans or Chinese. I have no preference. The trick is to use the $$ to RUSH settlers and massively expand before your opponents even gets their 2nd city. I've populated the entire map before AD begins and I gotten to modern era before AD too :D
The strategies given here for a win are vague. It's tricky, but can be done. Just remember to save your games before making big decisions. First, I chose the Greeks on Lightning and received a decent map with only 2 bordering civs that were a distance away. If you get a cramped start position, restart. Save @ start of game. You will want 2 get navigation so you can build a Galleon and find Atlantis (very important). Once you know where it is and any other artifacts you wish to find, start @ your save point. Now that you know positioning Research Libraries in the quickest cities & Hopiltes in the remaining. Research the quickest Techs. Once Mathematics appears research it & then Navigation to build Galleons. If you can reach an artifact with a trieme, build it. Otherwise, build Hopiltes. I built some spies/settlers in my most productive city. Sent spies 2 demolish or kidnap & settled the settlers in same city. Once you are ready 2 discover Atlantis, be sure you have a tech selected that takes the longest to research. I chose Invention for the Great Person it gives, very important! When you get Atlantis it should give you the 3 quickest techs + a great person! From here, Demolish, Kidnap, Reinforce & Build Culture vie Settlers. -Answer by:xII MACE IIx
Choose aztecs save and explore with settler before settling your capital. explore maybe till 3600bc. I find a capital and conquer it. somtimes I find them before they got any defence. I conquere 2 capitals by 2300bc. then research tech soon. I beat the game by 2030 or less.

What's the easiest way to get a cultural victory on Deity?

A1:
Use the French and take the time to explore your starting area before placing your first city, you shouldn't use more than 5 turns to do this however....then find a spot that will generate culture on top of what your cathedral will produce, that way you will get 1.5x the culture you normally would. In my experience, cultural wins work best with landlocked civs....the Egyptians are good for producing culture. The bonus to the Egyptians is that they don't need water access because they get desert trade....if you stick them in the middle of a continent, everyone else has farther to come for you and you have more than enough time to prepare for them, plus most of the items that give culture points, grow away from the sea. The only downside to the Egyptians is that they don't get special troops but since you get desert trade and start with a wonder, who cares? Build your temple before a baracks...
A2:
For me, the easiest way is to use the Romans. They can make Wonders for ½ cost and Great People come very quickly later in the game. They also start with Republic, so you can make a lot of settlers relatively rapidly. Lastly, they also have roads for ½ costs, so I make my cities pretty close together and they can share a smaller defense force. Then you need to find 1 spot on the map with resources or hills and mountains where later in the game you can make a workshop, iron mine, and a factory. This City should be able to easily get up to 70-120 resources/turn without even changing to Communism. At that rate you can make a wonder every 2-4 turns.

Alternatively, you can steal Great People every time they appear or capture Cities with Great People and Wonders in them. Keep in mind that a culturally-converted city counts towards the achievement as well, but you have to hold onto it.

I'm using the Russian civilization and I'm in a war with Zulu, but not taking over anything trying to get a technology victory, and it suddenly gives me a domination victory and I don't know why, suggestions?

The game has a time limit on it. When you hit a certain AD mark, which I don't remember exactly when it is, whoever is leading the domination race wins the game.
Its just an idea but are you the only one fighting? maybe some other civ is attacking the zulu. Also did you take ANY capitals accident?
Once you hit 2080 AD the game ends and gives a time victory to you, if you havent already won by the other 4 conditions

Why do you still have posted wrong info?  The Japanese one tile section says no one can attack you if your on a single tile. This is wrong, the enemy can attack from boats and ships. Please correct this error.

The enemy won't attack from ships because it takes off half of their attack, and the enemy is smart, so they won't do that. That's also the reason of when there's a hill around one of your cities, the enemy attackts from the hill. Same thing for forests.
Well acualy ships cant attack but if bombers attack when ships are near they can kill the defending troops but they cant take it over if its a one square island where your town is in the only square =P
The suggestion that the computer won't attack a single tile island is wrong! You do still need to have a force on the island because I tested the suggestion and one of my 4 single tile islands was taken by force. It does not happen often but a army still needs to hold the city.

Why does trading with another player on multiplayer only work sometimes?

Other players will go for Dominition every time so I would avoid Trading unless you're playing a friendly game or the other player you wish to trade with is on another continent. -Answer by:xII MACE IIx

How do you get to space every time it say time is up how do I get there?

A1:
You have to build multiple sections of the ship individually. You can launch after only a few sections are built, but I believe the more sections you build, the faster the ship will arrive. You win only when the ship arrives.

If time is running out, you aren't getting tech fast enough to finish the ship before the game ends in the year 2100.

Is there any way to flip an opposing capital city via cuture? I have had cities with 20+ pop. Shakespears Theater, other wonders and numerous Great people (including a Cultured great person) and Hollywood, right next to a capital and it just shrinks around their capital, and doesnt waivor? Is it possible to flip a capital with culture?

Yes, it is possible to capture and enemy capital culturally on the easiest difficulty, although it is normally very hard, unless you start out very close to the enemy capital and are able to build a city next to it rather quickly, say, within the first 10 turns
It is impossible to flip a capital because that would be unfair. How would you like it if an AI had lots of culture and flipped all your cities and capital? Its like a self preservance patch
Only if the capital has been captured by another civ, will you be ablt to convert it
Yes if it was already captured by another civilization

How can I keep on playing after the boring "The End" that came after only a day´s playing..? I won a domination victory against my will, just as the game started to be fun..?

Play Civilization 4 on the PC

Revolutions is a "streamlined" or "dumned-down" version of it
if you find Revolution to easy, get the real thing )
Don't move your troops into the capital city if your troops already moved in make sure you move them out FAST on the 2nd part of their move. Luck was on my side once, and I got out, but most times the troop only has 1 or 2 moves. My tank unit had more moves left, so I got out. Most times the game ends though.
I know it sucks but after you get to a point it automatically ends. Even when your about to get other victory types.
I would love to know if there is a cheat you can enter that will allow you to continue to play...
You can't. I have exactly the same problem and I can't ever get past it.
They allow you to keep playing so you can expand your Civilization to the far reaches of the earth. If you don't like it restart your game and play at a higher difficulty level.
Its really annoying im trying 2 figure it out aswell
I believe that the game automatically tallies up points and awards the Domination Victory to the Civ with the highest points at the year 2100 A.D.(?)
Take all the other civilizations cities except one capital and put modern infantry armies and fleets (if a coastal city) all around the capital so that no units come out of it and you'll be able to play till 2100 AD or in Civ 4 it let's you play forever if you say just...one more...turn (if you win)
A10:
1-0
Unfortunaty there is no way to continue. Therefore I do not think that it is even possible to truly dominate which was the best part about this game. It sucks!
I am mainly playing for the gamer score because I would much rather play the original and wipe everyone out, but really what can you do?

When I try to build 3 archer units, A wonder and a building in the same turn, do all of the requested objects get built or only the last one selected?

A1:
If you are building those things in separate towns, then yes. But in the same town, only the last one will be built unless you "rush" the building for a few gold.

Anyway to generate more than one nuke in the saem game- love blowing stuff up?

Just beat off on kids.
Develop the nuke in another city
Sorry but once you make manhatten project in one city, you cant make it in any other city thus only one nuke. yah it sucks and they should change it but thats how it is
After you got the nuke just get nuclear power which comes after
There is only (1) nuke per game.
Actually there is a way. you have to develop the Manhattan wonder in 2 or more cities. both cities have to have the same production rate. in 1 game I got 7 nukes at once...i got bored and launched them all at the Russian capital
You can only get one but in Civ 4 you can make thousands of weak ones ( in the broken star scenario ( in beyond the sword expansion pack ) you can make super nukes)
