Hold down L2 (vision control), then move the right analog stick towards the players shooting side (eg: left for a left handed shooter) and rotate it towards the bottom (or counter-clockwise, again... for a left hand shooter) until it's opposite from where you started. If you keep it moving forward far enough the player will also shoot. Can also start right analog stick the opposite way (eg: right for a left handed shooter) and the player will leave puck where it is and do a spin and pick it up. I've not yet found an actual use for that motion yet...

It was happening to me as well, its a problem with your wireless connection dropping the signal right at the end of the game, try plugging an ethernet wire directly to your modem

I had troubles with this as well. Go to the online section then choose community then click on view player hub. Once there with L1 scroll to address book and find your friend's name. Simply click X then choose invite to game.

Its Free! You must register first...so go to Playstation Store on the far right of the PS3 main menu and it will take you through the steps. Be sure your connected to the internet by going the setting icon and move down to the bottom and click on network settings. Take the internet connection test and if your not successful create a new connection, then go back redo the internet connection test and your good to go.

Just win I went 20-0 on the chops then I got moved up
You have to play well overall. not just score but good passes, positioning, assists etc. then you will move up. I went to first line in only 6 games.

My friend and I had the same problem we did it by going into online team play and and setting it to max 3 and then he found me joined in and we started with just two of us. Only problem is we cant play ranked games.

Take a goalie from free agency and ray emery,switch them, then you can select ray from free agency for your team

I can't go on after being called up to the Vancouver Canucks! Help?
I bought NHL 09 for PS3. I've been playing be a pro. Starting in the minor leagues with the Manitoba Moose. Everytime I get into the 12 -15th game I get sent up to the Vancouver Canucks...the Coach says good luck I hope we don't see you again down here..and then that's it. I can't go on. There's no option to play for the Canucks. It shows their schedule, I can go to all the screens to see my stats etc, the canucks games but no option to play. Where it says to go play the next game I can't even arrow up to it.
Is this it? Is this the end of this game? I've heard of people speak about playing in different seasons etc. I can't. I wonder if I am doing something wrong or if there is something wrong with my game.

Try simulating a few days ahead in the calendar ?

Go to be a pro central. On the calendar select the next game. Press 'X' then press Play Game..

Pause the game and go to pull goalies. There should be a column for home and the away golies. If your home, choose pull home golie. If your away, choose pull away golie. You can pull your golie at anytime in the game.

Don't listen to him, that will only pull out the goalie, not change him ! If you want to CHANGE your goalie, pause the game. In the menu, go to Edit Lines. Use L1/R1 to go to the goalies section and make the switch.

I guess you just have to push the r analog stick. You might get lucky. If you upgrade anyones hitting power to 99 in the edit player column, they will destroy anyone

If you have big strong players, crash the net and clean up the garbage. If you have skilled players overload with one timers and deke goals.

Create your own player in the creation zone. (you should not go online with the game, or restart it first). Create an nhl be a pro in the game mode (within the game). check it downloads the player you have created. to play on-line go to online-community-lobbie..., join one of the availiable games. pick up a side, position and there you go.
