You press them one at a time, but you still hold each one unil you've pressed all. Press ctrl first (continue holding) then shift (continue holding) and then press c while the other two are still held.

"For people with Windows Vista and HP Notebooks
GOT IT!

My fiance got me a HP Notebook with Windows Vista and a lot of memory and stuff to be able to play the Sims and... Vista doesn't like the Sims. Anyway, after chatting with a lot of customer service people that did not help me at all, I found out the following after a lot of trial and error:

CHEAT CONSOLE: Windows Vista and HP assigned the HP Health Check CTRL+Shift+C as a shortcut key (apparently, they don't play the Sims). It cannot be changed to another one because it is integrated with the operating system (i.e. Windows Vista). You can go to the HP Health Check Properties menu and disable the application, but the shortcut key will still activate it.

SOLUTION: you have to press the Windows key before the "C" (CTRL+Shift+Windows Key+C) that will bring up the cheating console. No need to rename or delete anything (which was my next move ).

Make sure no other program uses those hotkeys. HP Healthcheck did for me and all you have to do is click on its properties and clear the hotkey data

I play on a laptop and I had this problem too. Try holding the windows button in addition to ctrl+shift+c -- it worked for me.

I personally had the same problem and pressing ctrl shift c and the windows button worked. it was the only thing that worked to get out of the cheat box you have to type the ctrl shift c windows button again and cant just enter exit. I tried that and almost killed my sims.

I had that problem too. HP Pavilion.....what I found out is that I have to press the 'Windows' key BEFORE CTRL, SHFT, 'C'. Now I can happily cheat my way through the game. (I only cheat for money!) o)

In certain actions, like when my toddler chooses to play with his blocks, there is a red circle with a cross through it, like a no smoking sign. The toddler can play with the toy, but I want to know what the circle means. It also happens when my mother sim has the option to "joke about the kids". I got the same thing! I found it much easier to start clicking on neighbour's garbage cans and "rummaging" (not every can will have this option, but if you click on a can you are reasonably likely to get the "rummage" option.) It's messy and you have to shower afterwards (AND look for trash piles in your inventory! I had the "smelly disgusting" frowny face for days before I figured that out.) Anyway, after a little rummaging, your Law Enforcement Sim will have enough dirt (literally and figuratively) on a neighbour to write a good report.

I also noticed that the reports will be better if you wait until your Sim is in a good mood to write it.

When creating your sim make them have triats that make them sociable. My sim has a good sense of humor and is also friendly. I am not 100%, but check in the lifetime to see if there is something there to enhance the traits.

Same I made a sim and after playing all day (and Skill cheats) I got to international super spy, and it said to go raid a warehouse, and I dont know what to do.And I dont know how to question either(i had to use cheats to skip some hard jobs)

I had this problem at first with my journalist who needed to do interviews, and I bought him the Never Dull lifetime reward, now he gets all the interviews he tries for. And to the person who has to raid a warehouse, I'd guess that would be the Criminal Career place, Upstanding Citizens Corp or whatever it's called.

I had the same problem to begin with until I did the same as answer 3. Rummaging through the garbage is alot more profitable.. But beware, when my sim had got the required dirt, often if I did an action between finding the 'dirt' and actually writing the report on the computer the option had dissapeared... So try and make sure you do as less as possible between finding and actually doing it. I'm not sure but I think it may have been because he was promoted? or maybe just the fact that he went to work inbetween... but either way, be careful and write them as soon as you can. P.S - Having a higher writing skill point means your reports come out better as well as having a higher mood.

The old cheat from Sims2 does not work here.
Instead it is possible to go to 'options' and then you can choose on a slider how long it will take a sim to age... There is a short period and an 'epic' period. There is also an option to 'turn aging off' - This is able to change at any time during your play so if you want to make sure your Sim has a high level career before becoming a pensioner (which often happened in Sims 2) it is possible to slowly level up... and then change back to real-life aging.

I find that to be a real struggle for me too. I don't believe that you can... but you might want to try "motherlode" when you haven't moved your family in, and see if anything happens to your money. Hope this helps.

I've tried the family funds many times, and it does not work for me. i've also tried the motherlode cheat in "edit town" and it doesn't work. Ok this just makes me mad! My sims wear new clothes every day on the sims 2.... and now there isn't a clothing store! Whats with that? But when I clicked the mail box to see what jobs you could get as a day spa..... folding clothes came up? Is there a clothing store in the day spa or what? Also as soon as you download custom contact clothes do they come up at your sims dresser? But where do you buy the clothes? I dont get this!

I had the same issue too! You don't have to buy clothes like you did in the Sims 2. All you have to do is click on the dresser and choose Plan Outfit. It takes you to the create a Sim page and you can change your outfit. (Same goes with hair and makeup..click a mirror and choose Edit Appearance.)

OK calm down the folding clothes at the spa probably means the robes the customers wear or the towels, to get new clothes simply buy a dresser click on it and press plan outfit then you can get new clothes. its like getting a new hair style on sims 2

You get clothes in the game for free, why would you want to go out shopping for them? You can have up to three outfits for each thing (3 everyday outfits, 3 formal outfits, 3swimwear ect.) Just go to a wardrobe/dresser and click plan outfit.

The guide said you could have 3 outfits for each clothing category. Then it says you must own a dresser so I think you just click on the dresser or when you create the sim select your three outfits.

You don't buy clothing anymore. It is all free and in your dresser. When you click on the dresser, two options should come up: Change Outfit and Plan Outfit. If you click Plan Outfit, you will go back into CAS and can choose any outfit you want.

Sadly, death is final, but if you are a level 10 cooking skill you can feed ambrosia to a ghost and it may resurect. I haven't tried it yet. The unlucky sims may die a few times. The grim reaper finds it funny and resurects him/her.

You will be offered an opportunity from the science lab, at which point you will have to bring your loved ones ashes to the science lab, when I did this it only partially worked so my loved one remained in ghost form but I could now control her, giving me a ghost for a fiance who lives in the same house as myself and my new wife....

Protection From Death
Go to Pleasant Rest Graveyard, and near the gate, there is a strange bush called a "Death Flower Bush" - Harvest the flower from it.

If you keep this flower in your sim's inventory, when you die the grim reaper will trade it for a second chance at life.

This flower will not reappear, but there are Unknown Special Seeds (requires level 7 Gardening to plant) dotted about near the graveyard (and a few other places) which may grow another Death Flower (and sometimes more if your Sim has the Green Thumb trait to revive the plant.)

There are a few ways to avoid death...
#Eat Ambrosia.
#Plant 'Unknown Seed' which develops into a flower. Put flower into inventory and you can hand to Grim and he revives you.

Once you are dead, and if you have completed the opportunity you can take the urn of a dead family member to the science lab and they will revive you, for a cost.

If your sim has the cooking skill to level 10, you can buy the book "Ambrosia" in the bookstore. Once your sim learns how to make it, catch a deathfish which is only found at the graveyard at night (its bait is Angelfish and you must have a skill of level 10 to get deathfish) then plant a life seed (again, level 10 gardening skill) and mix those together and you get Ambrosia. Feed Ambrosia to a ghost and they MIGHT resurrect.

Another way would be for you to get the sims' ashes and you MIGHT get an opportunity at the space center to bring it back to life. Complete the opportunity, and your sim will come back to life but as a ghost. You can do anything with the ghost sim as any other sim. You can even Try for Baby. You could get a ghost baby and even start a ghost family this way.

You can live with a ghost sim if you wish. Say you married the sim then it died you can still have a child with this sim but you have to be female.
Make your females trait kelptomatic. Go to grave yard and swipe your husbands remains.On the second day since stealing the remains put them in or around your home.Then the ghost will appear every other day at 11:00pm to 4:00am soicialize with the ghost every other day untill your best freinds.After you become best freind the ghost will start appearing every day. Then you need to get the fertility award from the lifetime happiness awards. After that confess your attration to the ghost. Ask the ghost to snuggle on bed then kiss the ghost on the bed. Then try for a baby every night untill you start throwing up. Now you are going to have a ghost baby that you can control.

Okay so I've been playing with multiple families... I've been switching back and forth and I went back to one house and one of the sims was gone, I checked all the neighborhood houses and she is not is any... I've checked the family tree and it shows she is still a living, young adult. Any ideas?

She could have died. my sim died while I wasn't playing apparently because he now comes back as a ghost and still shows up under my other sim's relationships.

The reason you can't do this is that you can only have one active family at a time. If you choose a new family (in "edit town"), you will get a message saying that if you choose to change the active family, the last family that you played with will lose all of their skills, but will continue to age normally. If you decide to go back to them, you will have to start basically from scratch.

Im always switching from family to family but the skills remain the same... Its the 'wants' and 'moodlets' that disappear. I do find it hard finding families though, maybe they've taken it upon themselves to get married and move into another household? Ive never had a family member disappear but ive had them have random fatherless children? Weird! They also continue normal life with things such as promotions, and I did read they could make their own relationships (The Sims 3 website)

If you were playing with another sim family, and that sim had died while playing with that family, the sim would be dead when you went to that family

You have to go to options and uncheck the story progression. That will allow you to switch from family to family and it wont change anything. If you want to get her back just invite her over and talk to her until the option of moving in appears.

When you change the active household, the others keep playing by themselves. The sim could have moved out on its own, or died. To change this, you can go to Options and turn of the story progression. That way your houses will only play will you are playing with them

Not neccessarily. After its release, I'm sure a number of expansion packs for the Sims 3 will come out, some being very closely related to expansion packs of the past for The Sims 1&2, and possibly some entirely original ones.

In this game there are no loading times, and you can explore the entire neighborhood without loading times, so when it comes to work, you actually ride a bike, carpool, taxi, or even your own car to work. Once you get there you will have many options, including " work hard, talk with co-workers, use work-out fucility " and some others that I cannot recall at the moment.

Small parts from numerous expansion packs are included in the base game of the sims 3, however it is pretty clear that there will be expansion packs, especially since most community lots (including the hospital) are places that cannot be entered so you cannot even witness your sim having a baby unless she or he is at home

PLEASE READ IT'S FOR ALL YOUR CONCERN, TRUST ME! THIS QUESTION IS VERY VERY IMPORTANT FOR "HARDCORE" SIMMERS!
Actually, I have been playing the sims 3 for 2 days now and I really dont like the new "idea" they have for the sims3. Because, you dont get to interact or even meet the other family/sim you have created earlier. Based on my experience. like if you play one sim then chose to make another one and play with it and live with another house then maybe you want your latter sim to marry the sim you first made/played with or maybe you want your "new" sim to be friends with your "old" sim or something like that. in sims3 I cant do that. they are in different town/gameplay. Is there like a way maybe? like in one town all the sims that I CREATED would be like neighbors and friends or whatsoever? I only get to meet and interact the pre-made sims in the town but not the other sims I created. I really dont know how. do you know a way?

That is a really good question. I have that same issue. I don't know if there is a way.... maybe merging the families in one house....

Actually when you play a household go to "options" and "edit town". There you can create houses with familys from the other towns. And you can also change your "active" household to switch to another house.

I completely agree! The primary new version of the sims is spectacular but they did cut out some key factors that were in the previous sims. I may not want to hook up with local sims

If you want all your sims in the same town then click edit town and create different sims but when you switch the active household watch out because all wishes will be lost.

At the "edit town" level, you can change households by selecting another household to be your active household (although you loose promised wishes when you do that.) I've found it to be a little tricky navigating from one household to the next like that (it seems to be a two or three step process instead of a one step process like in Sims 2, but given the lack of loading times, it's still faster than ever!)

Another thougth is that if you want two households to be friends, just move them in next to each other. It's really easy to click on a neighbor and go visit them, or walk over when you see them checking for their mail. My Sims have met several neighbors this way and they often go over to friends houses, the same way they'd go into town (as long as somebody is home at least!)

For a while I had the aging and story progessions (in options) switched off, because I am used to playing multiple faimlies at once, but after a while, I switched them back on so the neighbourhood would go ahead and age and grow and so far I have enjoyed it. It's different than before and I had to "give up" on one Sim I created (he got too old for me to go ahead with the initial "plan") -- but it was so cool that when my couple moved back in with his parents after the birth of their second set of twins that the grand parents are elders now. (Oh yeah and Gunther Goth died right in my Sim's living room! My Sim didn't like it, they were best friends, but I thought it was cool, LOL.)

Anyway, good luck. I'm sure with the story progression and age switched to off, it'll feel more like the Sims 2. From there it's just a matter of switching active households in the edit town mode.

You can interact with every family in your town.
Don´t make a new town every time you create a sim.
Just create and install all families in the same town and then switch between active household.

A6 is correct. If you do that and find that you aren't running into the sims you'd like to around town, you can always go right to their house and introduce yourself!

I know to use a cheat you have to press crtl+shirt+c and I've done that multipul times. I made sure I was pressing them all at the same time, and then I tried pressing them one by one and the box for the cheats still won't appear. Any ideas whats wrong?

What is the point of the enableLlamas code? Does it actually enable Llamas (wouldn't be a big surprise) or is it just for giggles? Does anyone even know yet? lol
