You must first loot some villages from the castle's kingdom, that you want to take, and then go to the castle and select besiege
Getting a castle is easy as pie!
1. join a faction
2. gain loads and loads of Reown about 500
3. besiege a castle
4.Ask for the castle to be yours if you have won (by the way make sure that your relation with the king is high to get a 90% chance of having it

Getting your OWN castle:
1. Do tournaments to get money.
2. when you have at least 15k, run to all the major cities and recruit mercenaries.
3. when you have an army of them (at least 40 hired blades). besiege a weak castle. something with between 100-150 troops.
4. Enjoy the soils of war.
