I seem to be stuck in the family lair. I can't figure out the pattern for the inner and outer rings. Any ideas?

A1: 
First unlock all the family posts with the dagger, then match the symbol on the top of the family note with the symbols on the post in front. exclude the post with the water symbol on it. you have to put the fitch family symbols matched with the note on the floor.

If your talking about sepulcher all you do is hit the fleshy things hanging from the roof and then when hes on the ground walking around on his hands take out his arms first........that should do it!

Yes get the shotgun shells from the room with the hole where you duck under the wall then make sure when you reach the monster you have atleast 3 shotgun shells and dodge and blast and you should take him down very easily.
You need to run past the first monsters and straight into the bathroom and get the health then run past them again into the room with the broken glass and collect whats in there. then run around the corner and go into that room in the far corner you'll find more shotgun rounds then stay behind the desk and kill the two monsters in the room then leave the room and go into the garage and use the axe to kill the last monster. once you've done that you'll need to open the garage doors there's a huge monster you'll need to need to shoot with your shotgun rounds. Thats why you dont use them on the monsters at the begining of the police station.

Should I continue or quit the game everytime I lose?should I avoid monsters or fight them anyway I can and how do the above affect the ending?

The monsters have no effect on the ending. The only things that affect the ending are your choices when facing Lilian, The confession booth and Saving wheeler. It's up to you whether you want to run or fight. -Answer by:Flutterby
