Dead Space
To kill it you need to shoot off the little tenticles that come out of his stomach and attach to the wall. There are probably 6 of them. It is best to aim and shoot around his body if you cant find the tenticles. -Answer by:woooo188
Use your telekinesis to pick up an explosive tank(glowing red) and fire it using pulse gun or the mineral cutter..... and aim at the centre of the creature.
If you get close enough to use the ripper but not to close just constantly shoot the ripper aiming up and down should kill it in 3 or so blades
You can also use the Line Gun's alternate fire and fire a bomb under it and it'll shred it to bits.
You can use "stasis" on it first,dont get too close as it with take your head clean off,
then finish it off there up close,also use the red cannisters if there handy or you can go back thro the level to get one and bring it back with your "kenisis"if the level allows you.

The cheats do not stop any trophies!indeed theres even secret messages plotted all over the game levels written on floors/walls etc.once you worked them out and got the codex for it they tell you how to use your controller to input cheats for extra nodes. -Answer by:DARKLIGHT

Is there any way to change the difficulty setting once you've started a game? I started a new one with all of my upgrades and equipment, and I want to be able to change it to impossible.....

The only way to do that is to go through all your levels,as this will carry over the upgrades
you made to your weapons and nodes for rig etc.
you can only unlock the harder levels once you completed the first easy level.
if you want the to go straight to impossible after you completed the easy level you may do so.to upgrade suite and weapons etc to give yourself an advantage you must take all your items collected to the shop and sell them for nodes and perhaps plasma cutter ammo,then within the levels dont go to the tram to end the level,go back within the level and get all items that you couldnt pick up before and sell them again,its a tedious
and slow way to do it,but without the nodes to your equipment you will find it hard going wasting ammo unless your very acurate at aiming,you can of course shoot their legs off and then melee them to conserve ammo! theres also the "peng statue"which you can pick up in level 11 this will give you the trophie plus 30.000 credits thats 3 nodes! theres also a 10.000 credit floating in space you can grab in level 2 thats an extra node.also theres glitches for credits available in level 4 I think you can take advantage of those to use to buy nodes.you can also use the "stasis" cheat freeze them then melee them,use cheat to replenish then freeze them again and melee to kill them that way to conserve ammo. -Answer by:DARKLIGHT

I thought it was just before you ran across the outer hull dodging asteroids ..in that bottom floor area with all the nasty aniti gravity flooring
You find the blue wheel things and use Stasis on them and shoot the blue lights inside them through the holes.
There are 2 in the room w/the asteroid and and 2 outside on other side of asteroid

There are two gravity tethers inside the room, you can destroy them by using stasis, then firing inside the openings of the wheels. There are also three monsters inside the room, you can either destroy them first or jump around the room to avoid them. The other two tethers are located outside of the ship, go near the asteroid and observe the rings that move back and forth, avoid getting killed by timing your jump and walking outside of the ship.
There are two baby monsters on the outside of the asteroid, and the two tethers can be destroyed now however if you are running out of air, you can walk back inside of the ship by timing the rings again and getting your air refilled quickly then walking out before the rings kill you. Once your done with the tethers, come inside.

It's somewhat difficult the first time through, but what you want to do is:
Go to the bottom-left side of the asteroid and rotating death blade things (you don't need to jump anywhere, once you've cleared out all the necromorphs and taken out the first two teathers, it's basically just like walking into the room, up to the asteroid on the left-hand side. Wait for just the right moment as soon as the rotating death thingers start to move the opposite direction (away from you) zero-g jump right onto the asteroid and run like hell. Once you've made it onto the other side, you're good to go (save a couple of baddies waiting for you there), but you will have to repeat the process once you have taken out the teathers and planted the beacon. So just try to find the same spot and repeat in reverse to make it back into the room.

As far as the DLC guns go I have no clue about the one gun achievment but if you upgrade on varient of a gun it upgrades the rest of them even if it is newly added so for the maxed out achievment just upgrade one gun for each varient

I've compleated this game 3 times now, including impossible mode with just the plasma cutter. (No easy task!) However The only achievement escaping me is the "dont get cocky kid" where you have to blow up the asteroids manually with the cannons and keep hull integrity to 50% or more. Anyone got anytips on how to do this as its driving me mad?

The only thing you have to do is just blast every asteroid. I dont think there is any real stratagy for it. I think in easy mode the asteroids dont hurt as much as harder difficulties. -Answer by:woooo188

I had the same problem, trying to get this achievement. In the end, I muted the sound, turned off subtitles and controller vibration and even went as far as putting post-its over the %age hull remaining. This made it a lot easier to concentrate on the single task.
As for other tips...you should try and learn which asteroids can be safely ignored and thus concentrate on the rest nearer the center. Priority should go to the fastest moving ones, second to the large ones that break up into two more, and lastly, the single ones. Try and use only one gun at a time, except for the large ones where you want to destroy its offspring fast. I managed it after a few goes on hard with 54% remaining, despite cursing my mortal reflexes and slow-arse controller:-)

Like I said before you xbox guys are horrible at games....when one of the 4 holes in the wall shoots out a ball just grab the ball with stasis and though it back in one of the 4 holes.....(when you grab one of the balls with stasis use the firing button to shoot it in the direction you want it to go)

Well when a ball shoots out you will here a dinging noise and one of the wood floors light up.You jump to these then catch the ball with kenisis and throw back into any hole.jumping on the wood when it lights up is not required but it will get you more points -Answer by:V Dead Space v

Hokay so im in chapter 5 after that weird dude talks to us the 2nd time and we are in a room and get attacked by like 7 different monstas including the newest which comes back alive after you kill it. how do I get out of that room?

Use stasis on the biggy, and kill the others in the room, thats all you can do. after a while the chick will open the door
Kill all the the small monsters then use statis on the one that regenerates when its in the middle of the room then run into the room the fella was talkin to you from and push the button in there
Another good idea is to just freeze the boss mutant and run around the room non-stop untill the message speaks the doors are now open. This doesnt take long and you should only need to use your stasis twice, especially if you take off the mutants legs before stasis. -Answer by:TheJudge

You need to be more specific with your question. If its the part im thinking of then if you are in a room with repeated blasts of fire. use your telekenisis to gram a huge cylinder part and push/walk behind it. when the fire stops momenterily turn and shoot the 3 power generators. do the left side first and then repeat on the right. after this you can take a vital part you need but get ready for a tough brute battle!

You need to move the cylinder thing up using kenisis and while doing that you have to shoot the power generators on the columns in the middle. You have to do it on bolth sides to stop the fire coming out. -Answer by:woooo188
Choose a good time to fly onto the meteor avoiding the blades. Run to rear of meteor, Press Green button. Take an air canister with you because there are two more gravity wheels to stop. this can be done by slowing them with stasis or use cutter blades or contact beam
The room is zero gravity just jump onto it
If you view the metorite like a clock face, then jump onto it at half 7 when the blades move the other way. Walk around the outside (no atmosphere) kill the two lurkers and press the button (prompted) to place the beacon. go back inside a little to air refill before destroying the two outside forcefield clamps, thus saving any air packs for resale. Note... you can compleate this game without having to use any airpacks whatsoever, therefore just sell any you find.

Well first you have to destroy the tethers inside then head out and before you destroy the rest you jump on the rock from the inside and run past the spinning things to the part of the rock that's outside of the ship and you should get the option to plant the beacon.
Just blow the rest of the tethers get inside and laugh that rock!

I have already asked this also. I can compleate it esily enough however to get the achievment on this keeping the hull integrity above 50% is a real toughie! I doubt many people have done this. To get past this though just concentrate on hitting the very middle asteroids and especially the fast moving ones. Good luck.

There is a small room to the far left upon entering the shuttle hanger bay. Inside ther are two terminals, the right one will release the shuttle clamps but you can only activate this after destroying the regenerating mutent. This is really easy fortunatly..... Use your stasis and freeze it directly behind the shuttle at the tail boosters. Then run and use the left hand terminal in the small room to fry it to a crisp! you may encounter other nastys trying to dismemeber you in the process however if you are quick and not botherd about the rewards drop then these will run away as soon as the main boss creature is toast.

What you need to do is when they announce that you are about to have astroids come across get behind the airconditioner lookin things and wait til it passes and jump to the next one
Also take a spare air canister just in case you run out of oxygen on the way.

Just a lil add on that behind a couple of those barricades are oxygen refillers.
See my answer about the tram puzzle already submitted, if your still finding this game difficult then give up as it is only for gamers who can play hard and fast. impossible mode is a real challange. if you cant walk the walk then dont talk the talk.

If you're having trouble with level one, do yourself a favour and turn the system off. If you're having a hard time with level one, you will be ripping your hair out in the later levels.......lol

Watch a walkthrough in youtube , its the easiest way to solve a puzzle problem, but if you're having trouble with the difficulty well.... what can I say

I completed the game on easy and at the end it said the things I unlocked one of them was impossible mode. I tried to start it from the new game option and it only had easy medium and hard. How do I start impossible mode?

As far as I know you can only unlock impossible mode from medium or above setting. you should not be playing games from easy setting anyway unless your 5 in which case you shouldnt be playing this game! make sure your loading from your last saved completed game too.

If your talking about the tram clamp all you have to do is extend the clamp then use your stasis on it and go hit the other button as the clamp reaches the tram
The left hand clamp is automatically working. go around the other side and kill the mutents. then use the console to make the arm reach out. use your stasis on the arm and it will slow down sufficiantly enough for you to run to the middle console and as soon as the clamp hits the tram carrage the console will turn another colour. As this happens activate it and the clamp will grab hold of the tram and set of the FMV.
Stick with the game as it gets a lot better and that puzzle was quite challenging for the early game!

To fix it you need to push the button to extend it then when it reaches the tram you need to use stasis on the arm. Then tou run up the little ramp and push the button when it turns blue. -Answer by:woooo188
Like you did when you had to use your stasis to slowly move the door, use that for the right tram clamp when you activate it and then go to the monitor and activate the whole tram.

Hide behind the metel blocks across the hull every time the debry hits then wait until it is gone then hurry to the next one, if your having trouble with oxygen the best advice is to either book it to each cover or stockpile on oxygen tanks.
