Just hit both the yellow and blue pads at the same time to activate star power. But this would cause you to lose your streak. It's better to activate this when there is a gap between notes or the drum fill window for GHWT (parts of the song with wavy lines running across your drum screen)

It depends on your personal preference. If your hand-eye-foot coordination is good, drums would be best. Otherwise Guitar/Bass are the easiest to start out with.

No, Guitar Hero 3 can only play the guitar and the 2 player mode.
but if you like some of the songs on GH3 and you want to sing or play the drums to that song, you might want to check out the GH Smash Hits game, it has all the best songs from GH1 to GH4 including the 80's Aerosmith and I think there is one more. :)

Im not quite sure what you meant by turn on the bass guitar.
if you meant turn on the guitar that came with the game, it automatically turns on when the wireless receiver searches for it.
if you meant to play the bass part for songs, just use the guitar controller and select bass for instrument when asked whether you want to play guitar or bass. either before selecting a song/gig (quickplay and single player career modes) or right before you play the song/gig you selected (training and band career modes)

The band leader can hit the yellow button to join the singer (see bottom of screen). A ps2 controller will do the rest.

I had the same problem. I found that I had to hook to ps2 straight to the tv it was out of sync when I had it through my dvd/vcr.

3. if you spent the time figuring out what buttons on the controller correspond to what color? you could have already learned the buttons on guitar. and its even easier with drums because the colors are always right in front of your face

Ur fret buttons r having a delay. I suggest buying a new guitar.
Its because your system is too old. Same happened to me I just bought a new system and it worked fine.
It's not the System that is messed up. What you need to do is unplug everything but the controller. Then put the game in and it should work. Finally you can connect the instruments.

When you put the all songs cheats you unlock all the songs ONLY in Quickplay... I think you can't get more songs than the ones in the game because the ps2 can't get online and you cant save the songs into a MC...

I read on activision's website that guitar hero 1 and 2 wont recognize the USB (skinny one) guitars. I'm currently in the process of looking for some kind of adapter. If you find one, could you let me know?!
It's not tha same game so that is why it won't work on gh 1.
Ur lucky to have it on the fat PS2 because it shouldn't be compatible but just hold the button on the guitar then the usb cord then let go of both then hit the button on the guitar. GOOD LUCK!:)
I have the same problem with my world tour the reciever doesnt work I have had it workin on my fat ps2 an also had it working with all the guitar hero games but now it doesnt work

They can both be wireless, I also have two wireless guitars and they work fine, but sometimes different kinds can have the same frequency and interfere with each other.

Doesnt have a laser cleaner that you can buy for a PS2 trust me Been there done that, you have to clean it yourself, Be very careful how you do it dont let anything hang on it when its apart, google how to take apart your model PS2, as laser needs cleaning I opened mine up on the old fat PS2 and wiped it with cotton bud, then put it back together and it now plays Guitar hero world tour cd and dvds now.

You can either find a cheat to unlock all the songs, or play in career mode and every time you complete a song, no mater on what difficulty, it adds it to your set list. :)

Make sure that the receivers don't have anything in them (like dust or any kind of crud) try taking it to some store if that doesn't work.

You enter in the "auto kick" cheat and turn it on. then you dont have to even plug the kick pedal in. I used it when the wire came completley out of the pedal untill I replaced it. heres the cheat code. :)

My GH3 saves got deleted a couple times too. just glitchy I guess

Go somewhere in the options menu and check off auto save.
the same thing happened to me on GH5, I made a guy and when I turned it on again, everything was lost! I was so mad but then I found the auto save :)
