You have to make sure ALL the union soldiers are dead. I had a problem with that too at first. I went back out the way I canme in and there was a union soldier still alive.
Spoiler Alert! It's a lot easier to capture the two gatling guns in the Cold Harbor scenario if you find the secret Whitworth sniper rifle first. To get it, go left to the end of the first field when the secenario first starts. To the right of the barricade at the end of the field, hidden in the grass, the is Whitworth rifle. Keep your Henry rifle, but ditch your Pepperbox pistol and trade it in for the Whitworth. Then get more rounds for it by going back to the first two ammo boxes. One of these is to the left of the first house where the other soldier gave you your first instructions the other ammo box is on the left shore of the creek to the left after it makes the U-turn under the bridge, by a fallen tree where you can't go down the creek anymore. After that, you should have almost 50 rounds to fire at the Yanks from long range. You can kill most of the Yanks (including the gatling gunners) from long range with it, even from all the way back at the back edge of the plowed field above the Yankee fort. Have fun with it!
You kill all union soldiers and if you cant find the last one hes hiding near the house on the left and the soldiers should say "The blue coats delevered a new toy for us" then exit out the fence.
I can help you there. When your in the second warehouse, there are 2 other sdoldiers there as well. After you set the explosives, turn and follow them out. One of them will kick the door a back door open and you'll get out, unscaved!
(This was answered in a previous question above.) Just light the fuse of the barrel and stay close to your two fellow Rebel solders. One of them will kick open the back door and then you just follow him out.
Its easy once you set the charge turn all the way around your friend will open the door. I just run to the barrels and boxes on the the other side. I hope this helps u.
This happened to me too. One of my guys was stuck back at the beginning of the level, and I couldn't get him loose. I even tried to blow him up, but it didn't work. Had to start the level completely over, then everything worked fine and the gate opened.
On the first pass take out every building before the very last house there is one building kinda hidin behind a church take out that one and hit the church too that is one of the upper level buildings even though it is close then take out the last building. on the first pass you must take out all the buildings flashing and dont forget the one that is right there when you first appear do that and take out the non flashing church hiding the second to last building and your golden. on the second pass try your best to hit any thing. on the third pass there will be three buildings left if none were hit on the second however one of the buildings (the closest one is actualy two even thogh it appears to be one. The best tip I can give is hitting the church (which will not be flashing but is kind of hiding one that is) on the first pass and just getting good at the controls and how far shots go which is not as far as you might at first think.
It is possible, after manny attempts I finally destroyed them all. But there's no reward for completing the mission, so if you never do, you're not missing out on anything.
Look at the question that is above on the page for the Vicksburg part the question is : How do I win the Siege of Vicksburg(bonus level)? It seems impossible. It is hard to hit the targets and the time is too short. Are there any cheats or codes to make it easier? I posted my answer to that there but as for letters and pictures after you kill all the enemy soldiers in the immediate area look everywhere in and around buildings in places where no fighting occured and some stuff will be in bushes so you need to move your guy in there and loook down and you might find some if there are any in that bush. first complete each level then got back and do the bonus mission on the second time just so you r formiliar with the level however if you happen to be able to do it the first time you play that level then that's great and you wont have to waste any time doing the mission again so you can complete the bonus objective and can instead move on to the next level Sorry my answer is long but I just want to make sure you have all the information you need to pass the level. I hope this helps you finish the game sooner and with less of a hassle. Again sorry for such a long answer
The bonus mission you unlock after you complete the rest of the game is the only bonus mission. Completing it does not unlock anything else nor does it give you any skill points.
Once you r at the second station get out of your gun and run 2 the building and hide behind it .then you shoot all the union but you have to watch out because there r going 2 be a sniper on a building.
U have to get on the train with the gatling gun when you first start and then you stay on the train and it takes you to the next station and then get off or use the gatling gun to shoot the enemy then you go behind the building off to the right and there is a pic of General Lee or Grant I dont remember but then go behind the building in the middle and then you have to destroy the thingamajig and then get back on the train and go to a final station and destroy 2 thingys and then I dont remember I just beat the bonus level.
Okay, just stay in the building looking at the door, once you post the bomb, your guys will get it down, just run that wayand you will be fine. Hope that helps
You go to the cannons, there located near the 1st watch tower and the other is located near the tents where your team mate is hiding behind a crate with a hat. Use the left cannon by going up to it and press triangle and aim at the pole of the 1st watch tower. Then go near the 1st watch tower and use the cannon by pressing triangle and aim at the 2nd watch tower pole.
After you beat the first couple of the guys, follow your friend to the mountain,shoot the guys on the cannons,he will yell they are charging with knives go back the way you came and your done

When you get to the second hill you have to kill the artillerymen at the top. If they run away just kill the rest of the soldiers shooting down at you from the hill
From the point of view that you are in the gatling gun to left back side of the of the farm their is an open white gate. (be aware there is much more of the level to go).
Its next to a wagon in the confederate gettysburg mission next to a wagon in the beginning of the mission

You are able to get the Bowie knife only when one of your fellow soldiers die. I have only found it on the mission near Devil's Ridge near Gettysburg. You just need to hold triangle for a little while and can switch it out for one of your guns. I suggest you just keep the guns, though. If you want, you can also get the rapier. You just have to be lucky enough that one of your comrades was holding one when they died.
I had the same problem at first...after you ignite the barrel, stay near the soldiers. They will kick open the door that is closed inside the warehouse. Go out that door and you are safe. Hope this helps!
Go up to the TNT barrel at press triangle then go next to your team mate. He will kick open the door and lead you the way out so you wont die. -Answer by:CheatMastir
I had trouble blowing up the first tower near the tents. I ended up tossing a grenade inside the base of the tower on the ground and it blew the tower up. The second tower I was able to knock out easily with the second set of cannons
I probably have spent at least as much time as you did. I thought the cannons had to be taken out first. WRONG. I took out the furthest house ( On the hill ) first and that on the next passes took out what ever house was still standing. Took four tries but it worked.
Any hints or strategies to beat the Grand Gulf(USS Pittsburgh) section of the game? I've spent hours and always have one or two houses left to hit with my cannons. It seems you have to be perfect or you have no chance. Please help.
As you go down the river notice that some of the houses are flashing. These are the ones you want to fire at. Each pass there is different houses flashing. Get them all in the 3 passes and you will advance. Good Luck
You have to aim high, and fire rapid shots,
try your best to get the ones closest to the shore on the first pass, and on the shorter pass go for the building that is behind and to the left of what looks like a church

This is funny... I tried over and over again for 45 minutes but just fire like crazy! I finally beat it when the last house was going off-screen because we were sailing away and I fired one more cannonball and it finally hit it. so just shoot like crazy!
I found one on the second floor of the warehouse (before you blow it up). Go up the stairs and walk all the way around to the other side. This is the best I can do for you because I did not find any others.
I can't remember every location here, but one is in the back yard behind the first warehouse that you blow up. So get it first before trashing the warehouse, or you'll block yourself off from it!
In the first level which is the Chansellorsville level you have only two other rebel soldiers . You can get one more soldier when you are at the part where you have to destroy the two watch towers. In the second or third building to the right of you when you enter that part there is one soldier who will be sleeping or something like that go over two him and press triangle and that will wake him up and he should follow you for the rest of the battle.
A2:
The first soldier is on the ground to the right of the door of the church right after you kill all the Union soldiers and exit the building. The second soldier is to the left of the dirt road after you kill the Union soldiers behind the fallen logs after you cross the creek where the wagons are. The third (and last) soldier is inside a building of the right side of the Union compound where the two towers are. That's as exact as I can say it. (All three soldiers are cowards they run away to the rear after thanking you for reviving them. Thanks a lot for your help in NOT fighting the Yanks, guys.....)
