I got my styler to lvl. 12 and used aron and mawli's poke assist

Trust me! use 2 mawile an aron and a magnemite to recharge your styler mawile and aron have steel poke assists which stops the foe from attacking for a while

A water or grass pokemon vaporeon or grotol

Try catching mawille or aron. Steel type work the best, but also try some water type like buizel if you can get to the forest before trying to capture them, but if you can't, try steel type, because they worked the best for me

Before you talk to the team dim sun guy barlow will tell you wat types are good

You don't really need any Pokemon. Just circle him between each attack for as long as you can. If you have good timing, wait untill he actually starts to attack before you stop.
