U have to make a whole new profile on the dashboard and start a new one on that, the same thing happened to me
Are you playing 2 player offline mode?
if so.
create a new user for the ps3 and create a new sign in id for playstation network. then both characters will save.
also every time you join back in your game you will start at the beginning. not sure why the game does that. but press select on the map and teleport.

Okay assuming your talking about losing your charater every time you stop playing on two player then thats easy you just need your own profile on the ps3 seprate from your husbands profile or vice versa what ever the case may be it will save the charaters under the respective profiles. on the other hand if your talking about having to start the light or dark campaign from scratch every time I cannot help you on that one anyways enjoy the game
You need to have a second ps3 profile and play with differnt profiles then your second charecter will be saved and reusable
Go to the ps3 homepage... ( where it says player account ) click on create new account ( also make sure to register it online with a different e-mail adres, so you can trade items ) then when you have created a new profile, create a character start a new game save it and then log in on your other account name and start the game and press start to play together and then save it .. now you will always be the same level together..!

Just go into all the dungeons you find. and also you can kill lots of kobold creatures just north of the first town across the bridge. they often drop stuff that worth some money

When you get to the gates that wont let you through come back out from there and on your left there is a small path wiv a enemy flying around go dwn that path and follow it
If you mean at Dragonmaw Pass, you leave the front gates past the teleporter and turn left (when you are facing away from Dragonmaw Pass) there should be a road that leads to a door and you go through it and your 'through the wall'!
As you go up the road to the huge gate there is a small side road on the right that takes you to a cave be easy stay to the right of the road make sure your map is cardinal correct

Try turning your brighteness down a little bit and your gamma up in video options. It won't increase the letter size but it may improve their readability. Just mess with those two options until you find a balance that will work for you.
