Thing is, you have to actually play the game to earn tokens and buy everything.... I know that sounds like a lot but you did spend 30 bucks on the game so you might wanna play it or sing recession blues buddy.

Use x or the right analog stick
Either r3 or x.
On major league baseball 2k9 you pull back on the right analog stick and wait for the pitch to come and then you let go when you think its the right time. Another way to swing is pull back on the left analog stick and hold it back until you think it is time to push forward on the right analog stick.when you do swing number 2 it will be a homerun or a popup a lot of the times.

Put the r3 stick down then when the ball comes push it up
In swing stick mode you use the right analog stick to take a step than swing. I recommend you change it to classic control. to where you use the X button to swing -Answer by:ExpCheat
In "swing stick" mode you pull back and then release R. the timing is tricky though. Go to "my 2k9" then "vip settings" and change the batting interface to "classic"! this will make the x button swing and the Triangle bunt the ball. The left stick can then influence fly ball or grounder, and also whether you push or pull the ball

Go into franchise load and you will see your old one
It automatically makes a collision with the catcher
When he has the ball run home and don't slide and you will have a collision but unless the ball is knocked out of his hands you are not safe
Just run home without sliding, however I have only knocked the ball out once in several attempts (about 5%)

At the start menu move down to "my 2k9" then move to load. Of course you have to save one first. to do this when the game is over and you are at the season screen hit quit and then save and quit. you can choose a new save or overwrite the old one
