MLB 09: The Show
Yes, move the right analog stick in the desired direction you want the ball to go. This probably works about 25% of the time
You need to be patient when you bat I usualy wait for the 2nd fast ball and its usualy down the middle wich is a home run ball -Answer by:NYYanksBoy
You need to mover the right anagole stick right or left (not sure if you can go anywere else only played it like 3 times at friends house :))
Moving the right analog as you swing does not help to move the ball at all, it depends on your timing and batting arm (i.e. left or right hitter). right handed batters when you swing early will hit towards first, when you swing and hit late it will go to third and the opposite is true for left handed batters
I would go to player roster and look at the shortstop and centerfield positions. It's probably because the centerfielder is doing well offensively or defensively, or because the other shortstop isn't doing well or because he dosen't have a high overall rating.Try to ask for a trade around the deadline, and if you get a trade, ask your new team manager to get a position swap.
Change your second position and he might change his mind
Just keep asking him and he/she will crack to let you change postions
You mean the other way around
A1:

Because the game says so... duh
A2:

Rosters will get too filled
A1:

Yes just go into options and put the guess pitch mode on, mode classic 1/4
A2:

An you need to put the diffuculty on easy
A1:

No, not for ps2, but for ps3, you can.
A1:

Put "0" for speed, "99" for control, and "99" for break. The CPU will either pop up or strikeout
Not really, but if it effects you, I say use a batting stance that is not too complex.
The ones that ive had the most success with are: Ichiro, Frank Thomas, and Ken Griffey Jr. Ichiro is my fav..... very quiet at the plate.
Alex Rodriguez's is the best for Doubles and Homeruns.
But its only good for in your hot spots and down the middle pitches.
its not good for corners fastballs, curves, knuckles etc.

David wright works and so does griffey and miguel cabreara
I like Babe Ruths
For me the best all around swing is Sammy Sosa! You can hit virtually anything, at any speed, for basehits, doubles, or even homers! Also good for quick exits from the batters box!
Alfonso Soriano batting stance is pretty good for hitting just about anything
I like Milton Bradley's stance
Wat ev you do dont use a-roids stance or alburt pujols becuz whn your in a slump they cant hit at all. use babes stance
Either simulate abot a week or two and it will say that you don't have any promotions scheduled then press auto.
Go to buisness management then go to to marketing and go to promotions.
Go to buisness management then go to to marketing and go to promotions.
Go to a certain day's game, and there is an option to schedule a promotion.
You have to do it from the season schedule
Every Home game you have is when you can schedule a promotion
You click on which home game you want the promotion on.press x then a screen should come up saying scuedule promotion and then pick from free tickets free gloves free bats free jerseys free hats and more
Highlight a home game and press X then you have to go down and select "Schedule Promotion".
Your guy just has to be good. I suggest that you make your guy a first baseman and make sure you work on his batting alot. adv goals are the key to bing moved up
I suggest you try your luck at the Closer position. Add yourself to your favorite team and if you learn how to pitch and use your points wisely you can move up (and down sometimes) often and some times quickly. I like it cause I am not patient enough to bat and as a Relief Pitcher, you pitch often and for a few innings at a time. Good luck.
Because you can't beat the game.........ok
Be a first baseman and select the Giants. Their first baseman isn't so great
At least a season and if your good you could play the rest of the mlb season then do the same thing in triple a believe me I made it to the hall of fame before Manny Ramirez
It depends if the team is weak at your position. I had a right fielder who only spent 1 game at AA, 25 at AAA, and the rest in MLB in my 1st year
You have got to complete all of your advancement goals and play the season and get your points up allot
Play a total season and you will get up to AAA and then the next season you will advance to MLB
I didnt sign the contract they offered and wuz a free agent then got a offer from astros on AAA roster
Save ALL training points from spring training DONT USE THEM! You should be able to complete the first 2-3 advancement goals
Wait 3-5 years and you will get a contracted for the mlb bench or mlb starter
You ask for a trade then you get put on aaa or mlb roster that has happened to me
Just go to AAA or MLB
You just have to have a good batting average and increase your stats, I went from AA to MLB in one year as a SS. Just keep checking your advancement goals and towards the end of spring training try to get a home run then ask for more playing time to also be upped
You have do complete the avancment goals to do so in 5 games I was in AAA

A1:

You go to manage roster and then you choose add to 40 man roster. After that you choose whatever leauge you want that person to be in.
A2:

Yeah
The only way I know how to play as a minor league team is to start a
franchise or season and at the team select screen it will show the minor league affiliates. If you want to play as that AA or AAA team you pick that MLB team. Then select all of your options you want, and then press X to accept the options.Once you get to the franchise home screen use the right analog stick left or right to go to the AA or AAA team. Next, selct schedule and select whatever game you want to play. Then select all your lineups and starting pitcher, and then you start the game. The only bad part about it is that you can only play the opponent in the selected game.

You cant unless you go to dynasty most of the players are made up anyway though
Go to Road To The Show and create a player and go though spring trainng and they will give you a offer and usally its to play for AA team and then you play for that team
You move the left analog stick left on the schedule screen. One time you get AAA.Two times you get AA.
You can't. That's why its called MLB 09 the Show.
It took me one season to get moved up from AA to AAA then another season to go to the big leagues
I was so good I was a star on the big league team one year out,198 homeruns,18 nohitters 1,000 k's
It took me one year to go from AA to AAA and half a season to go from AAA to MLB only because a guy got injured
I got moved up from AA to AAA in the first month then the next season got invited to spring training nd I made the major league team nd ive been their ever since. U just have to b wise with your skill points. if your not it could cost u.Just complete all of the goals nd ull move up preety fast
I kept making my goals but was told that there wasn't room on the 40 man roster. The last time this happened, I went to "interaction" to request a trade and saw that there is a request that you can make to be added to the 40 man roster. I did that and was immediately brought up to the big leagues, while the person I was replacing was optioned to Triple A.
I think it is because it gives you points to use on your player and there are no goals.
Yes cuz during the season you lose points as the season goes on, if you get them before the season starts you cant lose them during the season
Yes, if you want to get more training ponts
Yes, because the points and if you play good you will have a better contract
Wat you do is sim spring training DONT ACEEPT THE CONTRACT and then sim the rest of the sean and repat this process until you are satisfied with your training points
Yes because there are no goals which means you can improve any stat you want or you can save the points for the regular season and complete your goals before you even start the season

A2:

But Only On Veteran And Higher Levels That Is
Just go to road to the show and go to ether sp or cp
You choose starting pitcher. at first you will be in the bullpen but after about 2-3 weeks someone will get hurt and you will be a starting pitcher
Select your position as SP (Starting pitcher) or CL (Closing pitcher) But there is NO RP (Relieve pitcher)
You should choose starting pitcher because they put you in the bbullpen the the first week until you can have interactions between your manager and then you ask him to start, he'll let only if you had good stats in the bullpen.
A1:

Yes just say like my team first not 2008 draft order and you will be the first in every round!
A2:

No
No. You can only use the golden era team in the exhibition mode.
You can Edit all they players from golden era on to a MLB team from roster editing. I usually mix in gold and silver era.
You can use all the golden era players just not the team
A1:

Yes.
Get on a somewhat good team have a good pitcher and eather strike out or catch the ball ( also you can walk him and not go agnist the no hitter and same with a error
Be the golden era and face wash nat's
lol i've done it 5 times already
lol i've done it 5 times already
Have 2 teams play each other, take your controller to the ream you want to be, then take another conctroller and put t on the other team. in the game throw the ball and the other tema wont swing. then when the other team is at bat throw any picth usng controller 2,swing and ull win!
Idk how to in rtts but if you choose a game in exhibition or quick play start it normally but when you pitch press start and choose controller select, choose the other team and completely suck. swing late, bunt, don't swing just suck. but when your first team bats choose that team again. also works for a perfect game but hopefully the defence dosn't screw up
A1:

50. then you get a bonus for breaking the streak once you get to the mlb
A2:

Once you break it that is the last bonus until it stops.
Do franchise mode
If you team is good like (throwin out a team) Brewers you have to be eather in 1st or 1st in the wild card and if there is a tie you go to a 1 game playoff... but then I go back to my point was your team good?
Select a team either cubs, red sox, mets, dodgers, angels,or padres or diamondbacks they always win and sometimes the philles
You have to win first in your division or win the wild card
There are playoffs and world series at the end of the season. I am in the playoffs now
I finished the season 154 and 8. I was in First place, no playoffs, no World Series, it ain't there.
If you finished the season in first place it your divsion or in will card.after you playing the last game when youre at the shedual press x and it will say something like congratulation you made the playoffs at whatever and you will be playing whatever team.
There should be cause I played like 5 seasons. playoffs and world seires after those you go into the offseason then spring training then the season
It should be. it was there for me and I went 162-0
A1:

You can't
A2:

There aren't any real cheat codes.
A1:

Free agent
A2:

Seattle mariners
A1:

Get online
Go to exbidition and keep going teell you see it
Go to franchise mode then choos the team that has your fav. minor league team then start and move the right analog stick right 1 time then go to schedule and the aaa schedule should be there
Um.... in RTTS mode, you will start in AA and then move (If your good, that is) to AAA. Make sure you choose your favorite team that has your AAA team that you like.
Go to either season or franchise use the right analog stick to the right and left to change the leagues. Then you look at the schedule and you can play that game.
A1:

The max is 99. If you see 99 you are maxed out!
A1:

No!
A1:

Move the velocity all the way down, and move the movement all the way up. It really helps alot. You can also do it with knuckleballs. I pitches a 27 K game! All the 3rd strikes were my insane 48 MPH knnuckleball, when my fastball was 94 MPH! You can also strike out the best hitters, like, Ken Griffey Jr, Aaron Boone, and last but not least Jimmy Kotsay!
A2:

Yeah just like he said put the speed down all the way control and movement up to 99 because this pitch is really not a speed pitch and it would fool the best hitters
A1:

You need to go to free agents and find him and sign him to your team. he may have also been picked up my another team which means you need to go into trades and search for what team he is on then trade for him. hope this helps
A1:

Square or X
Yes but its up to the coach if you have REALLY BAD fielding attributes
No
It all depends on if there's someone else at your position on your team thats a better defender. Plus good power can also help with becoming a DH. My guy was a DH in his first full season because of his power.
You can't say for your player to be a DH at the start when you create your player but your manager can make you be a DH in the during the season. -Answer by:austinaugust
Just have crappy fildeing attrubutes
Well, you need to either need to
#1 have bad fielding abilities
#2 have the normal dh hurt
#3 have your coach just feel like it

A1:

A1:

There is no way to get unlimited training points! My player hit 4 HRs in a game as well as going 5-5 in a 14-5 win. U only get a certain number of points depending how well you do in a game.
A2:

You don't. -Answer by:nathan96
A1:

No. -Answer by:nathan96
A2:

If you are a 1B you will have at least 25 training points per game just by virtue of your Put Outs.
A1:

I prefer Chipper Jones for power, matt diaz for contact, and Jerrod Saltalamacchia for entertainment.
A2:

David ortiz he is really powerful or prince fielder because both of these are really good, powerful stances
