I've come upon the red dumpsters and am trying to get inside of it to get the ammunition, etc. I've also encountered the blue/green ones.

When I approach the dumpsters (all of them), I cannot get inside of them. The arrows are pointing down at the top of the dumpsters but I'm trying everything to get inside.
