Go and try and play online, it will ask you to create an EA account, do that and then unlock is ungreyed. but unfortunetly the unlock codes are unique to each pre-ordered game :-(
You have to pay good attention to anyone you wantto recruit into your family, basic characters arentso good but you will find experts in everything they do in CUBA best place to recruit. Just start with what you can get, and when you unlock cuba, mark your men for death so when thety get into battle with you, they willall die,then recruit a full family all over again with thugs in CUBA. These guys are tough Ruff n Rugged. Just highlight an enemy racket that looks weak, attempt takeover and send all your guys there, you can go there in you want but they willbring that place down easy. -Answer by:Omicove

Step 1: Send your Mademen first
Step 2: Then after 2 or 5 minutes has passed go to the place you are trying to take over and finish of the remaining guards left if any are alive
For ps3 you press circle and look the way you want your crew to move...to get them to preform their speciality you look at the object and then press circle

It is at the corleone compound in new york, behind a flamable hedge (next to the gate) you will need an arsonist, but as they are useless most of the time, it is better to wait till you promote a capo to gain the skill
I have done this, go to dons view go to your family, click on upgrade to which man you want to get rid of, mark him for death look at top of screen, you will see various options you can do, either send him into battle or kill him yourself, I have done this, I sent one of my made men into battle hoping he would die, he didn't so I shot him.

You cant fire, add him to your crew then go to his profile and move along the tabs until you see "Mark for death", press that option. he wont go to hospital next time he dies, you can either kill him yourself or get him killed in a job so you should have a free space in your family )
