You have to remember that a tire will only offer 100% traction. if you use 70% of the traction to corner, then you will only be able to use 30% of the traction for acceleration. there is no way around physics.
It largely relies on the virtual driving style you use in the game, apart from putting stickier tyres on your car the best way to improve turn in is by changing the geometry settings for the suspension. The biggest gains for turn in come via chaning the amount of toe in/out rations from front to rear. to help put the power down you can try to adjust the camber of the rear wheels to keep a larger contact patch. The game is made to be realistic with respect to the changes you make so try different settings to find one that suits your style. You could try lengthening the gear ratios to help with power deliver this is a cheat option though as it will hider other aspects of performance. As the other answer says you cant ignore the rules of physic so you just have to control the wheel spin with the amount of throttle you use.
You gotta learn to brake, and get back on the throttle properly. If you brake too late, in the wrong gear, and then try to accelerate, you are gonna go off. Most problems are the result of braking too late, and getting back on too soon, in the wrong gear to correct for steering issues. Sometimes you want to steer with the throttle anyway. So, you don't want a car that won't drift a little bit when needed.
Buy a differential it will help you put the power down with th samllest amount of wheelspin to th back. it will let you corner faster but reduces th amount of power you can achieve going round the corner

Hi, lookin for alittle help. I've got a Fanatec GT2 wheel and I'm playin forza 3 and have real good settings when playing on Xbox 360 with just me playing. But, when I go online all settings go away the wheel is nowhere close in the settings (car is uncontrolable). Any ideas would be appreciated. Thanks?

When you are going round corners press A as soon as your going round
That button dose not make you drift it brings up your drift score. to drift press handbrake and tern into a corner but make sure you have pressed the drift button first and in green writing a number will appear if you go of the track that score will go red and you will lose that set of drift points
The drift button changes the box in the top right so you can see how many points you have but it doesnt effect the way your car handles.
Buy the Limited edition collectors copy, otherwise you'll never be able to use the DBS, I'm glad I researched the game before I bought it!
The drift button does not work like that. it will only bring up a display where your lap timer is and tell you what your point are. choose a rear wheel drive car or try a 4 wheel drive car and set the differential to 70% rear. happy motoring.
When you wanna drift a car just press the A button when you enter a corner on your controller (handbrake) and get on the the throttle a little, then you can drift easily
There is no button for drifting you have 2 be in manual you have 2 shift up like regular when driveing but when you get close 2 a turn hit the e brake shift down to 2nd or 1st gear depending on how much power you have hear is a tip dont try 2 drift with a all stock vehicle I hope this helps
Its all about getting your car to slide, easiest way is start to turn, apply the handbrake (parking brake or what ever you want to call it) and then apply the throttle hard and then steer the direction you want to go.

Forza 3 is the most realistic driving game I have ever played all the botton does is score your drift. this is not nfs where the car will suddenly have less traction in a drift race so in order to drift you have to get the tail out by using the handbrake or having enough power to make the rear wheels spin and lose traction and then using one of the two methods swing the tail out and then counter and balance the amount of counter and throtlle to drift the car around the corner
First press left on the D pad (the one that looks like the + insice a circle) and then when you get to a corner either press A and then obviosuly turn try avoiding the risk of spinning out or you have to be travelling quite fast and you can just turn really sharply ull know if your drifting because a scorer comes up hope this helps

There is NO CAR in the game that exceeds 270mph. And they are few. Many cars will exceed 200, 210, 220, 220, 225, and even 250 mph, with upgrades. But Tuning is the key to Top Speed. Gear Ratios are probably the most important.
You can't , 300 mph is achievable with some cars but 400?
I dont know but on YouTube I saw a car that gliched and went 2000 MPH!

I have a Bugatti thats does 274 mph.....
Somehow people are glitching their gear ratios. I saw a video of a subaru impreza go 356. now I maxed mine out and tried messing with the ratios. fastest I can get it to go is like 202. you cant make a car go 400mph normally. maybe as a glitch but not normal.

How do I use the tune settings I buy in the storefront I keep buying them I go to upload and it tells me they are locked it keeps taking my game credits I cant use any of my files?

Cause when you buy the tune it will be locked to a certain car. For example if you buy a tune for a Mini cooper it will only work with that. Choose the car that you bought the tune for and go into upgrade then go to My Tune Setups or something like that and it will install it at the expense of the parts.

If you buy a car from auction simply press x to remove the locked setup then when you go into upgrade shop the parts will be there to re-install . Although the fine tuning of gears etc... Will disappear ! A tuning setup from a store front is different once that set is applied to your car you can't modify it without removing it. However you can just put it back on again and it shouldn't cost you any thing as you have already paid for it once! Hope this helps.

Buy the 1969 camaro and buy all engine and power options including the first asperations and then buy the next engine and up and repeat . there should be like 5 to do this with then press start and reset default "something" and next press your xbox button and sign out of your profile then sign right back into it again and do not update! or just log back in and your engines and upgrades are there without costing you anything.,so sell them and then back out to the intial login screen "all three times back" then press the a button and it will save your cash. then do it again until you get bored of this! "its time consuming , but cheating isnt easy! -enjoy

5. Enter the engine purchase menu, and sell every engine. Note: Do not leave the engine menu.
6. Press the Xbox Guide button, and join your friend's private lobby.
7. Leave the lobby, then quickly press B to exit to the title screen, with the "Press A to Start" message.
8. Enter the engine purchase menu. You will still own all the previously purchased engines and parts and have the money you got from selling the engines.
9. Repeat steps 5 through 8 as many times as desired to get an unlimited amount of money.

First get get a car that you never used (a bad car), then with the money you currently have, buy all of the upgrades you could get, when you finished that, press start and choose reset default upgrades, then sign out. after that, sign back in, go to the upgrades and see that the money you started w/ b4 you bought the stuff is there, sell the upgrades you have. repeat.
Not sure if it was operator error, but, I tried the method in A3 signing in and out of the profile, I lost $150,000..... I guess thats what I get for cheating, Ha!

2 hours? I feel sorry for you. there arent cheats for this game where you mash buttons. idk if theres even gameshark or anything like that. just dont be lazy and earn some cash. its significantly easier since after level 4 in any vehicle brand you get performance parts free.
