Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs
Unfortunately that's the only tip there is. Have you tried playing it as 2 players? My husband and I attempted to simultaneously jump and shoot so that one of us was constantly shooting at it. Just keep working at it. It's the only way to do it and I have accomplished both of the ice cream scoops you are asking about. Sorry it wasn't a better piece of advice!
The real answer to the question is you have to take a couple of steps back and allow the heat to travel from a distance. The ice cream will melt if you shoot at it from a distance. You dont have to use two players. You can melt them with one player and the equipment you have. I hope this helps. Good luck.
In order to get the ice creams in act 1 and 2 you must have the heater from level 3, or else it would be very tricky. Also try and have a second player it makes things easier and go by quickly.

Just to the right of the flying car is bread that looks like a wall, cover it with honey and climb up to knock down the orange. You'll have to take out a couple of mean snowmen, first!
When you get to where the flying car is, if you go directly right and forward towards the screen, you will find a piece of bread making up a wall. If you get some honey, squirt it on, climb the wall, you find yourself in another area with hanging bits of concrete. Jump from one concrete platform to the next, up another bit of bread, and around a walkway, taking out two snowmen on your way. Eventually you are right round back to almost where you came up, on the left here is the orange. Thump it with the boxing glove to push it to the ground below, and then follow it down to push it to the flying car.
You have to go on your right side and climb on the bread. After that you will get into a room and then see the orange on your left side. You can't get it directly. You will have to cross all the other purposes in front of you and destroy the two cream puff.

There should be a food square that you put into that watery stuff right next to the building with the 2 pies on it. Move it and use it to get onto the building and then put it into the watery stuff when done getting the 2 pies.
A2:
To the right and further in is a piece of toast or something. Bash this, and there are two squares of butter behind it. Take these over to the van that blocks your entrance to the garage forecourt. You need two blocks in order to be able to jump high enough to get over. Do this and you can jump over, and find your 4 missing foodpods.

It's on the main street you can punch the hamburger to jump up on the roofs and get to the main street near the canopy..that's where the bait shop is

When you are in the out of sighter, dive it to the impassible bridge. Get out of the out of sighter and go back to the crates on the top of the screen (right) climb up to the chip and break it. Go across the two big tanks and go down the ladder. Now walk over and break the big cookie and then walk back to the out of sighter. Drive it to the burittos and hit R1 and launch them out of sight! That one is extremely frustrating, and unfortunately I don't have an easy answer. I had to upgrade the "heat ray" a couple of times and then my husband and I played it as two player and each kept jumping while shooting the ray. Eventually it melted. We kept giving up and coming back several times before this actually worked out for us. Good luck!

This drove me crazy, but eventually I figured it out. Go back to the level with your upgraded heat gun thing, and when you get to the bus, instead of standing right at the side of it and jumping, take a couple of steps back so that the heat gun just hits the ice cream as you jump, this way the heat gun has a longer time to take effect, and the ice cream will be history! So glad to see the back of that one!

It took me several hours to figure this one out...I have a Buzz Quiz TV dongle that was plugged in. As soon as I unplugged it from my PS3 and restarted the game Flint was able to jump and shoot again. Problem solved!

Upgrade your heat weapon as high as it will go. You will be able to melt the ice cream while jumping.
Position Flint at front of van and Steve the monkey at back. Press and hold down the melting device buttons while making both characters jump at the same time
In level 2: you have to jump on the roof of the car and when you're there you have to jump to that thing on the wall... and then you're able to jump on the truck and melt those ice-cream balls :)

You have to jump onto the big spinning fan and then wait for it to pass over the platforms where the strawberries are sitting. You then creep off the edge of the fan and land on the platform. You have to time it well though, otherwise you just drop back down and have to climb up again.
