You find the blue and green caps by going in the basement, don't take the star door go to the next door with the blue fire by it go straight down do not go upstairs, ground pound the grounds in the middle of the water. go out the door go in the hole BY the lake. continue until you see the blue switch. thats the blue cap! go to hazy maze cave and goto dorys lake goto the platform and jump up to the door go in the door and go in the hole go to the left all the way, ground pound the green switch and there is the green cap!

Go off the cliff after beating bowser 3 without getting the star to beat the game. You will be in the Castle Courtyard and there will be the 121st star on top of the statue star.

You need to stand on the red ! switch. some bricks will show you need to jump up the ones on the right before they go. then jump on the pole get the first 4. then go on the other pole to get one more. when to try and get the other 3 you need to jump pole to pole i did a backwards jump. hope that help u.

This one took me a while to figure out when I did it. Go to the Boo's mansion with mario. beat the first star and get the stairs to open up. When you can get to the next level go to the door on the very far right- in there you will see a red (!) box containing a flower- eat it with mario and elevate directly above that place (where the (!) box was)) and you will see a door. Get in there and a Luigi painting will be there =).

There are 120 total stars. There are 7 stars in each level. There are 15 levels. So, if you do the math, you have 120-(7*15) and you get 120-(135) which gives you -15, so the answer is [there are 15 secret stars.]

Lukario is wrong. There's actually 30 SECRET STARS! I found all of them! (I've actually seen someone who has 176 when it's only possible to have 150 no higher!)

You know where the fire is near the penguin on the top of the mountain? If you go down there and jump down you will see his body it will tell you to lead it to the head and you have to go fast to get to the head or the body will crush you.

If You go to the place with the sea creature and you have hit the metal switch.... hit the metal cap near the elavator etrance and quickly run to the switch with a question mark on it an then step on it then that one door near the switch will open with a star in it
